After the Windows 10, 1903 update I got a terrible static when opening the sound settings (from the windows 10 interface). Because of your video I tried setting the Default format tot CD quality (16 bit), and it finally fixed the problem. Thanks!

I was sceptical because of the like/dislike ratio, but this actually fixed all my problems with my games. I had no audio, no microphone functioning in all my games. Sound in google chrome worked tho. Now they all work. Thank you for that.

Thanks a million for taking the time to reply to my comment! Before I saw it, I used your tip's principle and undid and did again the things you have mentioned but as noting happened. I kept looking and found the sources and the sound programs separately and undid and did them again. Then the computer asked me to restart twice. Then I had sound. So, I thought you helped me and when I started writing my Thank you note, I saw your second advice. Good to have people like you around!

OMG- It worked!!! I'm so happy! Over 24 hrs without sound on pc. I'm 46 & a total technophobe & my son has just moved out of home & working nights & was unable/unwilling to spoon feed me basic tech instructions for dummies over the phone! Thankyou so much I love you!! XX

The fix for me was to unplug my headphones and plug them back in. I know too simple but try that first, either speakers or headphones. Major updates always seem to mess up the sound for me.
