Shame and gulit are common emotions associated with poor mental health, anxiety and depression. We think because mental health is hidden, cant be seen, not a physical cause, it is not real and then we feel shame and guilt for being weak or struggling.
Releasing shame and guilt surrounding mental health is the only way to start healing, to ask for help, to reach out. I always say, 'if you had diabetes, cancer, a broken leg, heart disease, would you feel shame and guilt, would you not reach out for help?', . Of course not you'd seek help, get treatment and heal'.NO #shame, No #guilt. #Mental #health struggles are no different to a physical illness its just the organ thats sick is the brain. The brain, the most important organ in our bodies, it contols every function. Yet when it's sick we feel guilt and shame. Negative emotions like guilt and shame keep us stuck feeding the overactive part of the brain causing anxiety and depression. you must learn how to release negative feelings of shame and guilt to heal your brain and heal your mind.
