Scratch Test: Find Out if a Dormant Shrub is Still Alive

Показать описание
Do you have a shrub (or tree branch ) that has not grown new leaves this spring? You can do a "scratch test" to find out if the plant still has life in it. Scrape off a piece of the outer bark. If you see green (this is the cambium layer that transports water and nutrients), then there is a good chance your plant is still alive. Horticulturist Miri Talabac demonstrates this simple test.
