Cubic zirconia is still really beautiful.

Carbon based, diamond will burn if u use fire more than longer or higher temperatures, do not do that at all

don't torch your diamond.

It formed under high heat & high pressure deep underground.
Under high heat & low pressure, it will turn into lump of charcoal (carbon)

Diamond is not forever, folks!

The carbon actually vaporizes in a diamond when faced to high temperatures in some cases.

He only torched the real diamond for a few seconds but then cremated the fake one

I'll be sure to bring a torch to my local jewelry store.

There are other ways to check if diamonds are real. No way would permit my diamonds to be torched; it may effect the clarity.

However moissanite does survive the torch. And acts just like diamond. Also if it’s made by Charles and colvard, it even passes every diamond testing kit.

I used to clean my earrings and let them soak in rubbing alcohol and I had a big pair of fakes that melted into a liquid in the rubbing alcohol

Remember kids if u heat up a diamond enough it will turn to air

You do know that real diamonds burn fairly easily right? It would look lile your "fake" diamond after you take a torch to it almost a min or so.

But why would I want to buy an expensive diamond instead of a much cheaper, visually indistinguishable cubic zirconia crystal?

actually the first one was even faker, diamonds are made of pure carbon and are extremely flammable even more than coal

A pure diamond is pure carbon it should burn

Fun fact, the only reason diamond can survive from tons of heat such as lava is because diamonds normally live close to the earth core and when volcano erupt, the magma or lava can push the diamonds up closer to the earth surface which can be mine

Real diamonds will be destroyed in high temperature too.

make sure the flame isn't super oxidizing...

Just make sure the flame is stoichiometric - too much oxygen, and it *will* burn the diamond!
