No cherry picked sample, this is the right way to review a product from companies like Eve👍

Reserved mine on January 29th 2020 and made my full payment on May 23rd 2021.

I have still not received my product and been lied to on multiple occasions as to where my order is and when it will be delivered, either intentionally or because their shipping partner gives them wrong information to pass on to customers.

Customer service is useless and will on out give you a canned response and multiple people have had issues getting a full refund because they made an early reservation of this monitor.

The monitor seems good for the price and the reviews for it has also confirmed that it’s a great choice for certain tasks, but do yourself the favor and chose a monitor from a reputable brand.

EVE as a company is a train wreck and their customer service is extremely poor, avoid at all costs.

Another great review. By far the most honest and thoroughly monitor tester reviewer out there. The only thing this review is missing is a handlebar moustache

My Eve V (their tablet) has still not shipped. Bought it in 2018. And there's no answer from them. I lost $1, 100. Be careful about your money with Eve.

HDMI 2.1 is indeed present in many monitors now, but some major players have them capped at 40gbps (which is ok) or 24gbps (which is pretty bad, worse than DP 1.4a) like Gigabyte and their M28U and M32U. So I guess the number of true HDMI 2.1 monitors isn't that high.

Great vid. This monitor was advertised to me incessantly for ages. I’m still waiting for the perfect monitor to upgrade from my current one. Or at least a 4k 120hz 100% P3 thunderbolt 4 monitor… a man can dream

Ive had mine for a while and I'm pretty happy with it. It's not perfect and the company was very sketchy along the way... But they delivered in the end. I think the ultimate issue is that if you are going for 4k 144hz, you probably want a flawless experience...

Pretty much in line with what was to be expected seeing the panel being used. At least Eve did a decent job in implementing the panel's potential, so they are doing okay on the engineering side of this coin.
However, I would probably still be choosing the LG alternative if it had to be this specific panel, since I would not trust Eve with a service process, should it become necessary within the frame of warranty.
Also, LG panels are notorious for being hard to come by for larger manufacturers even, so nobody should count on Eve delivering a monitor in a promised time frame, even if everything else is equal (to other brands).
That being said, even M28U and consorts are very expensive in Europe at the moment. If they were available at MSRP, they would clearly be more attractive than either the LG or Eve models. Given the actual state of affairs however, I'd rather wait for the next generation, in hopes of it being even better and perhaps less expensive. 4K at 32" might also be more desirable to many.

Preordered it last year. $550 monitor + $99 for stand. Shiping to Chicago $38. Total was $687. Paid in May 2021, delivered late October 2021.

I can't believe that Eve is still around. I was one of the people who pre-ordered the Eve V and after a year of delays, the company just went quiet, with me and many others left with no computer NOR the possibility of refund.

They still have the audacity to send me emails with Spectrum monitor updates. Would not touch anything by them again.

I'm going to post this here, as I think it's worth knowing what you're getting yourself into if you choose to deal with Eve. I (perhaps foolishly) decided to pre order an Eve Spectrum QHD monitor last year following the glowing reviews of the Eve Spectrum 4K. I'm now regretting that decision.

TL;DR - Eve have been super dodgy by asking customers who pre-ordered their QHD 240Hz model for full payment so that production could begin, only to turn round a few days before shipping was due to start to say: 'Oops, we didn't think to test the monitor and it turns out we're not ready to build it after all. Maybe we'll be able to fix it and start production in about 3-6 months, but we don't really know. Sorry not sorry. Lolz'.

<full story>

On the 20th Jan 2022, Eve sent out an email to me and their other customers that had pre-ordered the QHD 240Hz, ES07D02 monitor saying:

"Hi, [customer name]

It is Dima from Eve Devices coming at you with some excellent news: we are preparing the production of your Eve Spectrum QHD 240Hz!

Confirm your Spectrum

You have placed a pre-order for our QHD 240Hz model and have the chance to be among the first in the world to put Spectrum on their desks. This is your personal invitation to complete the outstanding balance payment and confirm your order to secure your production spot.

Finalize payment

Have a question regarding balance payments? Our customer support team is happy to help!

Cheers,

So, on that basis (naive person that I am), I assumed QHD 240Hz monitor (now 280Hz monitor) was finally about to begin production, so I went ahead and paid the €657 balance on top of the €100 deposit I paid back in August last year. The ETA for shipping was April 2021, so I figured might finally see my monitor in spring this year. Therefore, I was not pleased when Eve sent me an email on 31st March saying:

"Eve Spectrum | QHD 280Hz Development Update

Rob, our product manager, is walking you through the development progress made on the ES07D02 model to date.

Our Spectrum 4K and 280Hz models were designed to be rather similar apart from the notably different panels and firmware. With some adjustments to ensure housing and electronics compatibility, we confidently entered the engineering validation testing (EVT) phase of the project, where functional prototypes were built. Using the same chips in almost the same configuration, the expectations from our manufacturing partner were that (aside from code that dealt directly with resolution or refresh rate) the firmware programming from our 4K model would carry over. While this holds true to a large degree, our engineers ran into problems with two important features: the code for both motion blur reduction and HDR did not take well to the new panel. Instead of tuning and tweaking the existing code to get the most out of our 280Hz panel, our team now has to get them to work properly at all. This unforeseen development unfortunately impacts our production timeline and the new shipping estimate had to be adjusted to be in Q3 2022.

We thank you for your understanding and patience. More updates will be coming shortly!

Cheers,
Team Eve"

Errr, WTF?!? Why would Eve send out an email on January saying they were preparing the production of my QHD monitor, only to turn around two months later (literally a few days before shipping was supposed to begin) to say the monitor wasn't actually ready for production after all. Did it not occur to the company to build and fully test at least one unit before decaring they were preparing production and asking backers to pay the balance to secure a production slot? Either Eve were being hopelessly naive in believing the hardware and software they had tested would all work nicely together when assembled into an actual monitor, or they just needed a bunch more cash for development and lied to their customers in order to get it.

I find it really hard to believe that Eve didn't think it wise to build at least one fully working, fully tested ES07D02 monitor before declaring they were ready to being producing it. I've gone beyond being disappointed by the constant delays to being genuinely worried that the monitor may never come to fruition and angry at the shady way in which they went about securing money from the folks like me who pre-ordered the ES07D02. I feel like such a chump for trusting them and stumping up the €657 balance of payment.

My reaction to seeing this in my sub freed "Holy Shit! You actually got one?!"

Also slight correction: I believe it does have a KVM switch between the USB-C and USB-B (downstream) ports so if you plug the keyboard and mouse into the monitor you can KVM switch between a USB-C laptop and a usb-B2A PC.

I ordered mine 5 months ago and still haven’t got it, it was supposed to be shipped in September-October but they told me that there was an “error” and it “might” be here January-February

how good is the value of this monitor? considering the after sales support and australian consumer warranty laws. i have a eve V, i can say the experience was not pleasant when the keyboard broke. compare to walk-in in store to a local retailer to rectify the problem

Been waiting for this review. I purchased this monitor after the optimum tech YouTube video and managed to get it within 2 weeks, though I think I was just lucky. All in all I love this monitor and eve just needs to work on their customer service and this will be a great product. Great review.

Love monitor stands with flat rectangular bases. I often end up putting a subwoofer or a router there. Very useful when one's desk has limited space.

Eve / Dough should be avoided. As a customer that placed a deposit back in 2020. The monitor was continuously delayed and it was meant to be a returnable $100 deposit. I cancelled my order earlier this year and have been waiting over 3 months so far for a refund. They delete or ignore most messages sent to them via their forum so pretty much treating their customers with total contempt. Others have paid in full and not received any device.

Cancelled my order. They charged me 122$ for express shipping and then I waited two weeks only to find out I'd need to wait possibly months. They also were partially refunded people and not giving full refunds. They also charged me 24$ unauthorized charge, and refunded that, and then when I asked for a full refund for my other 822$, they subtracted the 24$. Sketchy as hell. If you follow their dedicated shipping discussion, you'll see all sorts of complaints.

As best I can tell, this is the only monitor that ticks all the boxes I was looking for to match with the new MacBook Pro’s: 100W usb c charging, good P3 colour performance, 120Hz or higher, 4K or better. Even the more expensive LG 5K ultrafine that Apple still sells doesn’t hit all those marks. 🤷🏻‍♂️
