Eve/Dough's monitors are now available from major retailers (Amazon and B&H). Will this be enough to become a reputable monitor brand? Can they ever regain the trust of consumers?

The problem is, that their specs were actually unbeatable for the price. But by the time they actually deliver, there are monitors from other brands doing mostly the same and you can just buy them instead. Like this one for example, even if you can have it tommorow, the only reason to buy it would be if you really really want glossy so hard. Otherwise its just another fast IPS panel. 2 years ago it would be mindblowing, now you would need a proper glossy OLED or miniLED to blow any minds...

Happy to say I was able to grab one through B&H and I am loving it so far. Other monitors just didn’t meet the qualifications I needed for my Mac + PC setup and once they started selling through online retailers, I felt a lot more confident in ordering. It’s a great display that does have a few quirks, but overall if you’re able to get one it is excellent.

However, yeah the customer service and past shipping/ordering issues are a shame. I do genuinely believe they are trying to improve (and making their products available like this is a step in the right direction) but it’s just going to take a bit longer and some more effort to really redeem themselves in the eyes of a lot of people. Really a shame because the product itself is excellent in my experience.

I got a couple of these from B&H, and I think some key things that are missed here as "stand out" features of this monitor are things like:
• Very competitive price for the specs
• Support for Display P3 color for creative work
• USB-C charging and video support for folks that use something like a MacBook as one of their computers they hook up to the monitor
• All of those benefits for creative professionals PLUS the solid and competitive specs for the price for gaming as well

There is nothing else even close on the market for people like me. I'm a visual designer by profession, and a competitive gamer. There was nothing else that even got close to offering a single package that could do both. At least, nothing anywhere close to this price point.

All that said, is this monitor the perfect monitor? No. But for a specific niche group, it's a no-brainer.

It's going to take YEARS of Dough consistently announcing, producing, and shipping products for me to trust them. The horror stories you read online are not exaggerated, they really are that bad. Taking people's money, not shipping anything, and then refusing a refund has been standard practice for them. If they are actually turning things around that's great, but I would not count on it.

Great comparison with the OLED G9 for reflections

You mentioned there are other similar or even better monitors now, so what would you recommend to get now for someone who was excited for this monitor back when they were announced?
I was looking for something to do color-accurate creative work on a Mac and game on a PC and this one used to be on my radar, but after all the controvencies I just moved on but never found another good option.

At the time this monitor was announced, the specs were really really great for its price. But since they are delivering now, other manufacturers have caught up and are offering similar options at similar prices so theres really no reason to go with Dough because they aren't really offering anything different other than their glossy panel on top of being a much less trustworthy brand.

The issue is the warranty. Their quality control isn't great so, there is an equivocal probability that you'll need to RMA the monitor and that's when things will go wrong.

Just snagged one after the recent price drop from B&H. As a designer & gamer this feels like a great option. I’d still like to grab a 32” oled for my main display but having this as a main until those come out and down in price. Then will use this as my 2nd monitor and one I take for travel.

So here are my thoughts as dough customer - my first monitor from them which was the regular spectrum was sent after 3 weeks (it was supposed to be already in stock), it was 2.5 years ago, the monitor is just fine it back then it was good deal for my money.
My latest order was August last year, for the 32 inch 4K OLED monitor - I knew it was preorder and it will take some time for it to be ready, but considering the price I paid 870$ for the gorilla glass version (no stand - their stand sucks), shipping was high (310$), It's a good price. My expectation is for it to be ready for shipping around August this year, even tough there is "optimistic" expectation for the monitor to be available this June - I highly doubt it.
They for sure have issues delivering the products on time (in some cases delivering at all), and I hope they will work them out, so it is hard for me to recommend for others to preorder or even order through their website.

Do not give this company any of your money. I originally pre-ordered a Spectrum QHD 280Hz back in 2021 for $100. In July of 2022 I paid an additional $565.95 as it was supposedly about to ship. Didn't happen.

I finally got fed up and cancelled my order on 10/23. Dough support said I should have a refund within 20 days on 10/24. Guess what? NO REFUND YET.

They are *literal* criminals.

what's also interesting, the qd oled turns purple instead of black. WOLED by LG with a glossy coating like on the Dough Black is the best of the best you can every experience in my opinion. it can only get brighter from there

WOLED + galaxy s24 ultra gorilla glas would be game changing

I have two monitors from one of the first production runs of the original 4K monitor. The biggest problem was that they were late, like very late. Even tough the LG competitor was also unavailable it started shipping about 1 month before Eve did at least here in Europe.

The company can easily beat Samsung and LG in monitor market just by selling Glossy Monitors they just have to be good at customer service that's all

Any chance we'll get an AOC 24G4 review soon? I have high hopes

Wouldn't be suprised if they're just slapping a gloss layer ontop of the existing matte finish.
In the tftcentral video about blackdepth the glossy dough performs suspiciously similar to the matte version of the same panel.

Ordered their 27” 1440p monitor that was supposed to start shipping in July but never did, and still hasn’t started shipping to this day. I asked for a refund 4 months ago and still haven’t received it; they said it’s still processing. Beautiful monitors but terrible company, no integrity whatsoever.
