My daughter left Catholicism for New Age, etc. Now she’s Eastern Orthodox. Personally, I’ll take that as a win.

Great video. I've always wondered why this was issue.

On a side note: Earlier today I went to the Protestant church this morning i was faced with an onslaught of anti-catholic misinformation. First during the sermon the pastor said "the Catholic Church is wrong to have priests because we're all priests." He also said "we don't need to call Mary and others saints because we're all saints." Then later during the a baptism the person who got baptized took a shot at the Catholic Church they attended saying "they taught me work based salvation and i need to continually confess my sins." Finally on the drive home my dad took a shot at the rosery and Catholic "rituals" saying how it was bad.

The whole west/east problem is not theological but political. The emperor always wanted to dominate rhe Church to use it for political reason. The Filioque issue was used to create division. The german princes did the some with Luther.

Jesus breathed on the apostles and said receive the Holy Spirit: John 20:22. It does indeed appear that the Holy Spirit proceeds from the father and the Son

The recent Filioque debate between Christian Wagner and David Erhan is definitely a must watch for those discerning between Catholicism and Eastern Orthodoxy. The Eastern Orthodox dude lost so bad and the Catholic came out on top.

Some eastern Catholics do recite the entire Nicene Creed from 381AD. The Chaldeans do. The only Eastern rites that don’t really is mainly the Byzantines

I like the Filioque because Christ breathed The Holy Spirit on the apostles in John 20.

The filioque is in the Bible: “But when the Paraclete cometh, whom I will send you from the Father, the Spirit of truth, who proceedeth from the Father, he shall give testimony of me.” (John 15:26 - Douay-Rheims)

If that’s not enough, here’s the filioque again in another verse: “But I tell you the truth: it is expedient to you that I go: for if I go not, the Paraclete will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you.” (John 16:7 - Douay-Rheims)

And in yet another verse: “But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have told you.” (John 14:26 - Douay-Rheims)

There are yet more examples, but it should be clear enough from these that the Roman Catholic Church is correct on the filioque.

As to the words of the Creed, they are straight from Scripture: “I believe in the Holy Ghost, who proceeds from the Father and the Son…” (refer above to John 15:26).

Jesus clearly says HE sends the Paraclete (Holy Ghost/Spirit) who proceeds from the Father, and that this same Holy Spirit will give testimony of Him.

It isn’t a huge issue. Jesus sends the Spirit in scripture and in scripture it says, the Spirit is the Lord and the Lord is the Spirit. It was only in the 9th century that the apostate and heretic Photius of Constantinople held his heretical synod that got him excommunicated for the second time by Pope John VIII. Bishop Michael, 200 years later, is the one that made this heretical synod a dividing line and wanted to be Pope of the East.

A much bigger issue for all Christian churches is the infiltration of liberalism. Each church should focus on reconquering their own churches with basic truth, and leave minor theological differences as interesting but non-urgent.

Eve is from Adam, their children are from Adam and Eve. Human are the image of God. God created human being, inspired by Himself. The Son is from the Father, The Holy Spirit is from the Father and the Son.

The "orthodox" make a fallacious claim, they say that if the Holy Spirit proceeds from both, then the Son would be equal to the Father yet the Holy Spirit would be inferior to both, but this is non sensical, because the Son is begotten and the Father is unbegotten, The Holy Spirit proceeding from the unbegotten is not the same as proceeding from the begotten one, the Holy Spirit wouldn't be inferior, he would be equal with both the Father and the Son, because the Holy Spirit that proceeds from the Father is the same Holy Spirit that proceeds from the Son, the distinction is in the relation and not an essential distinction, nobody is inferior essentially because they are all equally God, the only distinctions in God have to do with relations.

I think it's an heresy to deny the Filioque because ultimately it denies God's simplicity.

The Filioque wasn’t the cause of the great schism, it was Phodius who wanted to play game of thrones and ended up snapping the whole of Christendom in half for 1000 years
