Always helpful. Previous versions of these tutorial helped me get into Linux. How about video about dual booting Windows and Pop!OS? I remember it wasn't so easy for me to do.

You sir are a life saver! I tried many other tutorials unsuccessfully till I found yours. Problem was I could not get Ubuntu to dual install with my Windows installation...it kept booting into Windows with no GRUB option. Your detailed manual installation with the partitions solved the issue on the first try! Thank you! Now I can try Linux for the first time. So excited!

Sometimes, after big Windows updates it can rewrite your grub by second windows bootloader, even if you have linux and windows on separated hard disks. To prevent such behavioar, enough just set some password on your bios/uefi and this will protect your bootloaders.

Hmm, strange - I shrink Windows partition as you described and left it as unallocated, but during Ubuntu installation I cannot pick it to instal lubuntu :/

I could not complete the install. The fix was to reinstall in safe graphic mode then install into the ubuntu partion since the free space was taken from the previous incomplete install.

is there a convenient way to not boot into the desktop manager? I'd prefer to use "startx" from the old days if i need the GUI on the computer. i intend to use this mostly head-free and remote via ssh/screen/mobaxterm...

awesome video and thanks in advance!

For me, when sd1 /boot/efi appeared at 15:38, I thought that Linux would corrupt the Windows EFI and I was wondering how to install Linux's own EFI partition. My previous method was efi (linux), root, swap, home. In other distros it always showed the message that it would be an efi partition suitable for linux, for example, unlike sd1 but sd4 boot efi

Hi there. I have a problem not being able to boot from the pendrive. The text that appears on my laptop screen when I try to dual boot from windows 10 trying to install Ubuntu 24.04 from a bootable pendrive with windows 10 says: could not create MokListRT: Volume full. Same thing for a line named: MokListXRT. And another: SbatLevelRT. One more: MokListTrustedRT. and the last line says: Something has gone seriously wrong: import_mok_state( ) failed: Volume full. I can't find any solution to this problem on the internet, in forums, on youtube, etc. I have done everything that is out there with people guiding me and asking me to do this and that and nothing works. Some people from Ubuntu´s forum say it is related to the secure boot KEY´S list within bios boot setup. I also have the secure boot section disabled. Some people suggest that I delete those keys or reset them to system default but IS IT SAFE to do that? I need help from you guys. Can you show me what to do? Thanks. Much appreciated with any information you can provide me. Best regards, Alex. Congrats on your channel.

14:15 so all options on my "Device for boot loader installation" are grayed out and I can not progress forward. the ONLY think I could think that I did differently than the tutorial was that I wanted to install Ubuntu on a different HD than windows... could that be what is tripping me up?
