Just in case anyone else has this issue when installing xubuntu: if the installation is complete and you cant click on the window to restart the computer that pops up you can just force shutdown and take out the usb and it'll work fine. At least it did for me.

I used this guide to install Linux Mint on two laptops -- Thank you!!! Both of the laptops are setup dual boot with Windows 11 and Linux mint.

When I start one laptop, it goes to a light blue Windows screen that lets you choose to boot Windows 11 or Mint, the other laptop goes to the black screen with the white text like in your video -- would you know how to change it to make it like the laptop with the light blue screen? Is it possible to install Ubuntu on drive D instead of C ? Or maybe I can plug a new drive dedicated to Ubuntu then I can use the drive D as a common storage for files (pictures, videos, etc) between Windows 11 and Ubuntu if needed

Is the shrinking of the disk C really needed? At 4:13 couldn't you simply choose "Install Ubuntu alongside Windows Boot Manager" instead of something else?

When I try i click install now it says ‘failed to unmount /cdrom’ and if I click continue my installation becomes red and fails. I tried looking it up but it just says the usb needs to be unmounted - which doesn’t make sense because I’m booting from that usb
