i think the wildest thing i ever saw on ao3 was soukouku (bsd) smut and the summary said 'I got into a car crash while writing this'

I thought the Ao3 writer curse was a myth until I had to write end notes that said "Sorry for the late update, my dad died and I gotta cope somehow" or "Early update because I'm having surgery to get my gallbladder out in a few days and I'm nervous so I'm writing", and the latest one "I should not be looking at a screen because I had eye surgery but I was possessed to write this".

Having said that, I would want someone to end my fics or let my readers know I croaked! That's a real bro ngl

This really moved me. Um, in 2022 I was in a really bad place mentally and I ended up writing an owl house fic that blew up. I was afraid I might end up institutionalized (or worse), and I had an entire contingency in place to get my usernames and passwords to my friend (who had no idea about any of this) so he could post the updates I had written already. Thankfully it never came to that, and I finished the fic and nobody ever knew. It was just, y’know, scary. I didn’t learn about Fannish Next of Kin until years later, and I’m glad it’s a potential option.

not the craziest an out there but... this fic ive been following up with always has wild events in the an? there's a story too... like they got metal poisoning and after recovery were kicked out of their house at 18. then they couch hopped with their basics and their laptop and cat. then uploaded a new chapter to the fic with "guess who has an apartment at 18!!" and everyone was so overjoyed in the comments lol. they rambled about their furniture and stuff and it was rlly sweet.. and then they left it off with "hope i can continue to afford it and don't get sick hehe" and like... DROPPED OFF THE FACE OF THE EARTH??? left the fic on a major cliff hanger and never did anything since 2021 i believe? milf_obtainer6969 if ur out there i hope ur doing well and i miss u and ur work. 😭😭😭
