I just bought the same scanner. I learned a lot from you during this video paid almost $600 I think for it well worth the money specially with the features being handheld hook it up in the vehicle and you can have it at your home patrol. Thanks for the information.

as far as I can tell there isn't much of a choice out there. but here is a quick list for you to check out.
Uniden BCD996P2 it is a mobile/base

All hand-held units except as noted.
Pro-668 is made by Whistler so it is 6-1 half a dozen the other.
ALL are capable of decoding phase II and it looks like it is all heading that way so my money is on a P2 unit when I get around to buying another one I would have bought one this time but I came in blind and bought a 396 it works well as a P1 and standard trunking as well as conventional but not too well on MOSWIN unless on my tower antenna and those are the ones that haven't been converted yet.

I just bought one.it has full upgrades.you can buy them on ebay with full paided up grades now.you have it all.one I just bought was brand new on ebay for 3.3

Yeah, I posted a you tube video myself proving how poorly it does with Phase 2 in NJ. Even the police departments who use phase 2 digital have complained about reception issues. However, it does a fine job decoding phase 1.

It seems like on mine the arrow on the top right corner needs to be pointing down 👇 in order to pick up the frequencies is there a way to keep that in the down direction all the time because I always have to change it because it starts out in the up direction

Used to have a bc125at & gonna either get this, or the sds100. I do a lot of railfanning & would like your opinion on which of those you think would be the better upgrade for railfanning

Great radio, but I don't care for the multi vol-sq knob (i have the bcd325p2). I would prefer the outer ring knob as was used in the Sportcat that I had.

 I am interested in buying this scanner. My local sheriff's office have changed all of their signals to digital and their freqs are 800.00 and higher.  Will this scanner be able to pick up those freqs?

Are you able to program your Favorites lists right on the device, or do you need to use the computer?

Do they do a UK model, listening to digital over here is restricted as they are mainly security & emergency services, so doubt we will ever be able to listen to what you guys in the US do

aside from using a battery, is it possible to use the USB port as a power source? batteries are that handy and add weights to pocket or bag.
