Uniden BCD436HP First Impressions

This is my first impression video of the Uniden BCD436HP digital hand held scanner. The Uniden BCD436HP review is a quick look at the radio. The 436HP is a great handheld police scanner. I recommend the BCD436 to those looking for a great mobile scanner. The BCD436HP battery life is pretty good for the size screen and features you get. This is one of the best hand held scanners ever made in my opinion. So many features in such a small package. Please comment if you have any questions. I hope to do a full review soon. Enjoy!

I added the metal post like the 396xt on mine and it works great.

It has a multi colored LED just above the speaker grill.

Also it does not have the headphone issue the BCD536HP had on very early production units (which has since been fixed by Uniden).

Right now, I am using the database to do my monitoring. I will eventually want to create my own file/favorites to add to the radio. I have already heard communications that I'd hoped to hear with this radio. A couple of 700mhz transit systems. And one of those will eventually have public safety communications. I will eventually want to get a carrying case. But, for now, the radio is just a "base" unit.

Does the 436HP have the ability to provide a colored indicator depending on the service being received like the 536HP does with the outer tuning knob ring? This is something the top GRE models had and it's very useful.

How many frequency can you program on this? And how many can you scan? I wanna be able to scan through all the cities police fire and ems in my area. Just bought one today it's on its way

can you monitar more than one zip code at a time? The city (St Joseph Mo) where i live has @ least 4 different zip codes for different parts of town.

Does it record just transmissions or silence too?

 A couple of questions. Can this radio be programmed by hand? Or does it need to be programmed with software? Does it do 700mhz digital?

Is this unit compatible with the new radio system that thay have in there cars .... bc my analog scanner doesn't work and I don't want to go spend a bunch of money if it's not going to work

Any one notice the clock not keeping time on ther 436HP ? Got mine 2 days ago and had to reset it as many times?? WHY pay that kind of money and the fricking clock don, t work!!!
