Uniden SDS100 Vs. Uniden BCD436HP Audio Decode Comparison

Quick comparison video between the BCD436HP and SDS100. Which do you think is the better scanner in regards to decode Quality? Does the SDS rein supreme or is the 436 still getting the job done? Of course, this all depends on where you live. If you live in an area with P25 simulcast the SDS's are for you! If not, the BCD436HP will do just fine.

How can I tell which one sounds better when I don't know which is doing what?

Have you tried the Sites on the BCD436HP set to Manual and 8 to improve it's decode to the best possible for this Phase 1 System?

Have you tested how well each does on conventional analog? I heard the SDS100 was bad with that.

People, enough with all these BS videos here on Youtube as to which scanner is better. Both these scanners have the same capabilities and the only dam reason one might be better than the other are the different power options both these scanners have. If you don't mind running out of juice on your lithium battery powered portable scanner when you are out in the middle of nowhere and can't find any place to charge it...then get the overhyped Uniden SDS100. If you want to have the ability to power your portable scanner in just about any condition with cheap AA batteries which you can buy by the dozens, then go with the Uniden BCD436HP without a doubt. I have the 436 and would never opt for the SDS100 for the simple fact that you can't use AA batteries on it. Enough said!

Still don't know why one signal dmr on one freq just one location so far single freq dmr simplex, will decode audio on ubc3600 which is eu version of 436, but won't on sds100, even with same dmr settings it just stays as dmr noise full signal, but on the eu bc436 will be clear audio

So why can't you record horizontally vs. vertically? You get a better field of view horizontally.

If you want to listen to police bands here in Lee County, Florida my scanner was acting odd and the next day nothing from and police departments. My scanner has live a hard life so I presumed it was time to buy another scanner and have them program it for our county so when I get it no police chatter just fire departments and some other things. I went through and checked to see if the right things were on and up the range. Then I called the company I bought this scanner from and asked him if my county could be scrambling their radio signals which he said they are and no scanner made can pick it up so next question how long until they do. I was told that they won’t have a scanner to pick radio any police scrambled signals and if you use one they can fine you and take your scanner. I think it is P25 signals. I probably should have checked to see if this was becoming a problem before I spent the money and now listen to anything the scanner picks up which is boring.
