Do you find yourself keeping busy to escape anxiety?
Показать описание
Busyness is a common avoidance behavior among anxiety sufferers. I know I have fallen into this trap thousands of times.
I get it... It feels much better to be engaged in something than to feel all those unwanted, uncomfortable, and painful feelings. And as moms, we have plenty to do anyway. But unfortunately, this is a trap we set for ourselves.
You see, many anxiety sufferers even think that being busy means engaging with life. But the energy you do it from is very different; it is fearful, nervous, impatient, annoyed, frustrated, and overwhelmed. Perhaps you know what I'm talking about?
I know it is hard to be with your feelings, and I wanted to do everything to escape them myself. But the truth is the only way forward is through.
But it gets better. PROMISE.
I would suggest starting by allocating 10 minutes a day to do NOTHING. Maybe just rubbing your tensed chest muscles, or maybe just sending love to your inner child, or maybe just listening to the nature outside.
Just stop fighting and see if you can let go of that guard.
This will allow you to get used to being with your own feelings and thoughts, and gradually you will start experiencing more peace and doing things out of peace rather than frustration.
