You never realize how much you use certain muscles until it hurts to use them.

The look in his eyes when he says “no you dont” can only be described as genuine pain

The chin tuck was something we taught to radiation patients (ent office) when their swallow started to get weak. Glad you figured it out, makes swallowing way easier

Never trust a doctor who's smiling, or anyone who says, "This won't hurt."

“Hi my name is Ben and I just had the right half of my thyroid taken out.”
Fantastic start…

Glad your ok to make videos. A few years back I had a cyst in my throat. They cut my throat to drain it and never stitched it closed. They said it would heal itself. It did but that was an unpleasant couple weeks. I have the scar to prove it.

I had my entire thyroid removed, and I am jealous how good your voice sounds at only 5 days! It took much weeks to be able to talk somewhat normally, and a few months before I could sing again.

So glad your doing well buddy. My wife had hers taken out from cancer. She’s also doing great and she’s cancer free. Makes my heart so happy to see others doing well and being positive. She hates her voice now but at least she still has one. Stay awesome my dude. Much love from center Pennsylvania

My mum had her entire thyroid removed because it was enlarged for years and looked like a bubble in her neck. She didn’t complain after surgery making it seem like she was not in pain at all (I have a very tiny VERY strong mother xD)

Had hard time when eating and drinking first weeks, my voice still can't talk loud by the end of the day my voice start low and weak but getting better every day at least I still got my voice back even not normal. My scar is look better more and more with scar formula. Sneeze and cough painful but after 3 weeks no more pain. No cancer that was good news to me! Everyone had thyroidectomy wish you have quick recovery! 😊😊😊😊

Holy moly.. that’s gotta be rough. Super interested to hear the voice again once it’s healed. Keep soldiering on, looks like you’re doing really well handling the whole ordeal all things considered!! :)

4 hour surgery for thyroid cancer. I was shocked that I hurt so bad till I found out my tumor was almost as big as my fist😮 Yes, I sounded like Donna Duck for 10 weeks and for the first 2 was in so much pain I did not wanna drink, eat or shower. I’m a nurse in the OR and talk all day for 10 hrs. I am healed, whole, and thank my Dr who found it(ENT, best in the world), my surgeon(who I trust w my life), and God who brought me through it all! He’s right about all of it, blessings and do what the dr says! BTW, thank an OR nurse and team, for whom it wouldn’t be possible to have it done!
