I'm hoping this doesn't suck. I was very upset with the "Dragonball Evolution" and "Last Airbender" movies and this looks like everything those two movies should have been.

So was this just the English Dub version, or did Hollywood actually plan to improve the visual effects of the original Chinese film..? Considering people complain about not being able to ever find this film, I'm lead to believe it was simply released as the English dub option for the original film, not its own film under a new title.

The best one remains the Chinese animated version from like 1964 --and I DON'T mean that"Alakazam The Great" schist-- which had finally emerged on YT in a nicely subtitled version. ..Only the most berserk animated cartoon ever made, especially when you're seeing it with the Chinese dialog, with that over-the-top traditional Chinese music. check it out on here, somewhere...

The last one, I think from 2014, even though still a great story, that movie made me lose hope for a sequal ever again. So, i guess, re-imagining it is most def the way to go. Hope this one is much much better!

Aaron Wok does a far better job than Donnie Yen at the role of the Monkey King. He would've nailed it if funnier.

WHY WHY WHY remake when the original The Monkey King Havoc in Heavens Palace is great as is as was Monkey King 2. Monkey King 3 was a disappointment without Donnie Yen as Sun Wukong / Monkey King. Why not do a Monkey King 4, ah because as we all know Holywood has no creative license and all it knows is to do remakes.
