No Pete, you are absolutely correct about ping drivers being heavy. Put it on a scale vs Taylormade Qi10 and you’ll probably see a 10 gram delta. That’s why a lot of their stock shafts come counterbalanced

I am a ping guy; probably always will be. Just upgraded to g430 D and woods, i230s last year. I doubt I’ll pull the trigger on a new driver. Great testing Pete; you crushed that 10k!

Interesting info on the g400 Max. Just gamed this for 2024 at 9deg and x stiff . Never had a ball flight and consistently fly - it’s a monster for £190, very happy 😅

Another thing to consider I saw the Taylor Made is 100 less in price. That could sway people too. Both of these drivers seemed to have nailed it this year though. Great review as always Pete!

Great review. I won't be rushing out to replace my beautiful TSR3 any time soon though - I only bought it in September!
Sorry to be pedantic, but the MOI units here are g.cm2, i.e. grams x square centimetre, NOT grams per centimetre squared. As you say, the higher the MOI, the more resistant the clubhead is to twisting, all other things being equal, e.g. location of the C of G.

I just bought the Qi10 max and it’s a beast. Ultra forgiving and long. Nicest driver I’ve hit. Tested the 430 max as well. Also a great feeling driver. It was a tough choice between the two but the Taylormade won out on feel alone. It’s so smooth
