Most golfers don’t have the luxury to change drivers unless it’s for the one we used years ago. Confidence and swing are the club golfers mantle. Tomorrow is another day, because we dont really know what we are doing differently from one day to another. We all have bad rounds yet we come back tomorrow and try again no matter what level of golfer we are. There is always tomorrow!

I understand your pain. I had been playing an M6 driver. I missed it right on 80% of my drives. After multiple inputs I determined at my age I needed a lighter driver. I went to get fit with weight being my prime consideration. I tested Cobra, Calloway, Taylormade each with a variety of shafts. I also tried the mini drivers from Calloway and Taylormade. I finished with the Ping 430 and voila, more distance and the tightest dispersion pattern. I have played my Ping for a month and have reaped the benefits of keeping the ball in play. I am now scoring in the low 80’s and my last 2 rounds were 78 and 79. I have never owned a Ping wood but the results are there!

Just getting back into golf now that the kids are older. I spent money chasing the “best new clubs” but practice is what I need. A lot of great coaching videos online. I am watching those then applying those lessons at the range.

I was fitted for the 430 10k (as a poor driver) and I’m playing the best golf of my life over 5 rounds in a row. The driver is the standout reason. Buy it if you want it

I'm loving the Max 10k it's absolutely superb, totally agree about getting lessons though, they really help....I was sorry to hear about the loss of your father.

Great video on the struggles and mindset difficulties we all will face at some point. I'm on year 2 of watching this channel at kind of surprised this is really the first time seeing this from you. Reason I say that is with all the testing of driver's and clubs, I would think the slight tweaks and adjustments needed to produce quality shots with all the different driver set ups would cause your swing to just get a little off from time to time. Which is what I believe to be the case currently. Keep your head up and swinging and bringing great content each day James. You will get through this ruff patch.

I went through a bad spell of wanting to play golf and once I got there I couldn’t get myself motivated which really affected my performance, thankfully it looks like I’m slowly coming out of that slump, I even changed most of my clubs because to me it was like resetting myself

Nobody will ever convince me that a mini driver is a long term fix. To me it’s one of those gimmicks you use a lot at first but slowly use less and less because it’s not what you thought it was. I’ve heard that ping driver hates the rough and will keep you in fairways more long term. Tho I switched from my cobras to all Kirkland to prove a point and Costco I’m hitting fairways with your driver and only lost 6 or so yards. James you have a good swing your issues will correct. You were probably just getting to much water in between club face and ball which caused things to go a bit haywire. Your swing is very solid and not one that will break down long term.

Recently purchased the TM Mini Driver hands down best club I’ve ever owned, bought the 11.5 dg positioned the heavyweight forward and 💣 away it feel’s and sounds incredible so easy to hit and so accurate, I don’t think the average golfer will loose much distance if anything I’ve gained distance because it’s so accurate absolute weapon

I just switched to the PING 425 max. Regular shaft (down from stiff). I was ok with my previous driver but I couldn't get enough spin to keep the ball in the air. 94-96 club speed 134-138 ball speed. My old driver was carrying 215 yards in the air and rolling to that 260 number (phoenix in the summer). The 425 with the same numbers carries 235 and rolls to that 260 number. Sometimes you just need to recognize that despite your hard work equipment can get in the way. Keep swinging James it will come.

I don’t have a driver atm. Just been getting back into golfing. Club i go to, they let me bum a demo Ping 10k and they have a stiff 3 wood shaft on it. Never hit so straight in my life. 53 years old and been 260 carry. Sometimes i even get a good roll for 300 yard drives.

I have a handicap index of 32.2 aged 77, can hook for England the only slice I have is cake!, I recently purchased the G430 Max (12deg) its set to the maximum fade (not sure this does anything) to help offset my pull/hook absolutely love this driver it was worth every penny of £459

I've got two drivers - Sim2 Max and PXG 0811 Proto Plus. PXG seems more forgiving to me and the Sim 2 is a tad longer. If I'm grooving with the PXG then it's easy to switch to the Sim2. I weighed both heads and the PXG is heavier. I wonder if that helps me get a better delivery. Not thinking that chasing the dragon on drivers is going to be the solution. Maybe some time catching your breath and spending time with your little one will freshen things up. Thanks for posting and sharing. I've just climbed out of a months long period of awful ball striking. We've all been there or will be.

I think more emphasis should be placed on shafts. Yes getting fitted is a plus, but I dabble with it on my own and have had good success over the years. Perfect example I’ve been playing the Ping G425 max for two years. It was a bomb fairway finder for me, but I out of the blue began to struggle with it. I went to a lighter Ventus Blue 5-S shaft and it is even better than before. I don’t think enough people realize a driver is a two part system, you might save money thinking shaft change vs new driver, your already used to the looks and feel at address of your current driver. That’s a big plus.

I did a Ping fitting and discovered that I hit it straighter and longer with the LST model vs. the 10k

Love to you bud ❤.
I just bought one off eBay yesterday to test out against my Rogue STMax LS. I'm hoping it can give me more confidence! 🙏🏻

This feels much more like a metal issue as you mentioned with confidence… all of these drivers perform within 1-2% of each other. I would be willing to believe it was the shaft before the driver head. there’s no way you’re going to be OB with one and then nailing the middle of the Fairway with the other. If you’re swinging is identical, they don’t have that much variance, but if you are much more confident, going to one versus the other or think that the club will help you that mentally you allow yourself to put a better swing on it

I needed to replace my aging Ping G400 Max, which served me well for a good number of years, so I bought a Ping G430 Max 10k. I absolutely hated that thing. So I went back to the shop and got me a TM Qi10 Max. Best driver I’ve ever used. So easy to hit, and very forgiving. It has decent distance. Maybe I should’ve got the plain one or maybe even the LS model, but this driver is very serviceable. It’s just fairway after fairway. Anyway, that’s my take.
