Hi I’m Rick Shiels, welcome to my channel RickShielsPGAGolf. This YouTube channel is designed to help you play better golf, also to help you enjoy your golf more!

I specialise in golf club reviews, golf club unboxing, golf club news, golf club head to heads, and all about golf clubs.

I also want to make you play better golf by providing coaching video on all topics about golf, how to fix your slice, fix your hook, help you drive the golf ball longer, hit your irons more pure, hit your irons closer to the hole and help you draw and fade your golf shots.
I will also help you lower your score by chipping better by stopping you duff and thin chips, pitch the ball closer and also create backspin. Also I will provide you help to putt better and hole more putts!

On this channel I also make fun and entertaining golf content based on crazy and sometimes “gimmicky” golf clubs. I like to cut through the marketing hype about products and I like to give you the honest truth about golf equipment.

If you enjoy the channel make sure you hit subscribe and also tap the notification bell so that you are always notified when I release a new video.

Awesome video! Could you do a similar one on irons? I'm curious about how well second-hand irons age over time. My main question would be concerning grooves, and how their age can potentially affect shots or not. To me, they're such a huge investment, and shelling out well over $1200 (sorry, US based 😂) on a set just doesn't sit well with me

Rick, this was a very helpful and timely video for me at the moment. I am looking to do exactly this - buy a decent second-hand driver (few years old) that stacks up with what's out there today all at a reasonable price without sacrificing too much in the way of technology or performance. This is perfect for somebody like me who is in the in-between stages of working on their swing while not quite ready to invest in a costly fitting. I would LOVE to see the same kind of video done for your favorite set of irons in the same class. Many thanks!

I would really love this same exact type of video for irons. The golfbidder challenges are great but I think this style would be much more valuable for people trying to find great irons for a better price

Just bought the Mizuno STX and already notice how more forgiving it is compared to my older driver. Fitting was a big plus as it was recommended changing from a regular to stiff shaft and have increased distance by over 15yards

Loved this, I actually brought the second hand callaway epic GBB driver 3 months ago. I’m so pleased with it best £ 170 I’ve spent. Keep up the great content. 👍

The best advice I ever received when it came to new clubs and game improvement was this: "It doesn't really matter what clubs you use, it's the person holding it that counts. Get yourself some lessons before buying new clubs." Case in point - a buddy of mine from another country who's a decent golfer (8 hcp) came to visit me recently. He used my 15 year old Clevelend irons, which he's never played with, and a borrowed putter. He shot 79 on a course he'd never seen.

Excellent video Rick. I have recently bought a secondhand Ping G400. Noticed a big improvement on my old G10 and particularly agree with the comments on forgiveness.

Great video as always. I already got a new driver. I just love the information you have. I got fitted for the pxg 0811x. Haven't used it much but definitely love it. Thanks for the great content.

I went with a second hand Mavrik Sub zero about 6 months ago. Traded in an M5 at Roger Dunn and only paid $25 out of pocket for it. Scored a Ventus Black 6x shaft for $150 and the Mavrik with the Ventus has been a fairway finder! My total cost including the $150 I originally bought the M5 for is $325. Only $25 more than a new Mavrik still sells for, and I have a majorly upgraded shaft.

I bought the Ping 400 last year " New" and I have to agree, this is the easiest driver that I have ever hit . I tried a friend's and was blown away at the length as well as the direction control, went home and ordered one . Each time I hit it I say most forgiving driver ever as the ball finds fairway after fairway .

The original GBB epic and your review was my first big golf purchase. Gamed it for years and loved it. Just picked up a second hand epic flash to give a go this year. Great perspective as always Rick!

Thank you for this video, it was a great help. I'm definitely going to check out getting a 2nd hand driver. Most definitely the Ping G400.

Grabbed myself a Cobra Speedzone Xtreme last year, and couldn't be happier. I've not hit a driver this forgiving on off-center strikes. The ball speed jumps about 3-5mph on center strikes as it should, but off-center it's just so consistent. As much as I want the latest and greatest, I'll keep this baby in my bag for years to come.

The difference from one year to another is mostly minimal. I just bought the TM M-1 last summer. I love it. My buddy's who bought newer are still right with me. I agree that used can sometimes be the best

Great and informative video Rick! I have never bought any part of my golf game brand new and this includes balls, bag and clothes! All bought second hand! Its a great way to make the game affordable for someone like me when I started

Rick great video. I have always purchased 2nd hand drivers. I've only owned less than a half dozen but all used. You've done a service to all of us how can't afford the "newest and best" on the market. Great JOB!

Crush that Ping, Rick! Still rocking my G400 and absolutely love it. Really enjoyed your video about the G400 driver lineup, they helped influence my decision to get it.

Would love to get your thoughts on pxg’s new pricing. In the states you can get their 0211 driver for under $200 and can get a fitting done and be out the door for $250 for a brand new driver

Great video! I'm getting back into the game after 20 plus years, and will be upgrading clubs that were old then. Second hand is definitely the road I'll be going! Like others have said, I'd also love to see a similar video on irons.

Just to delivery of a used 2019 Mizuno ST-Z. finally replaced my 15-ish year old Taylor Taylormade Burner Superfast. First driver I've had that was more or less built for me! Barely used, msrp was over $400, got it for $265! So worth it!

Love the videos Rick! Been watching for years!!
