Great Video. Is there anyway to have each item in the drop down to only be used once? Thanks in advance!

When dealing with array formulas, you can just reference the cell with the formula in it and add # to it, instead of the entire column.
It will update automatically and you won't have all those blanks in your list.

Well paced and clear explanation. However, you’re encouraging people to name fixed ranges of cells instead of using the more advanced feature of Excel: tables (from the Ribbon: Insert >Table), with structured referencing.
There are lots of benefits to formally defining tables within Excel wherever you have a list, instead of just making a fixed block of cells. One of the benefits is that they can be reordered by drag and drop. Another is that entries can be added and the table will dynamically resize to include them. Within the data validation pop-up window, you can use indirect addressing name the table as your lookup list.

Great tutorial. Thank you. It would be nice if you can zoom in a little when you type the info in data validation screen. I maximized my screen and it’s still hard to see what you entered in the “source” field.

Thank you for this insightful tutorial. Quick question on the Searchable Drop List, is there a way to use the Data Validation on a table referencing to several cells on each row? I did a searchable list but cannot apply this search to the next rows as referencing is locked on one searchable cell.
