I think my issue with people offering me relationship/life advice on the basis that I'm single is that there's an assumption there that they are more successful than me BECAUSE they're in a relationship. They may very well be more successful than me, but it has nothing to do with their relationship! Besides, just because you're in one doesn't mean you know everything about them. You may very well be single again one day.

One they didn't include that I get a lot is "You don't want to end up alone, do you?" Like, are you really scared of being single when you die? Hell even people who do find the love of their life much of the time end up dying alone: the other person dies first, the love was short-lived, etc. I guess it's sort of similar to the "you need to lower your standards". God I hate that one. I'm totally happy being single, so why would I want to settle for a relationship I know I won't be happy with? I'm not looking to "fix" anybody -- I like who I am, and I don't have any desire to try to mold another human being into the person I want them to be. Either they're someone I already like or they aren't, and if they aren't I'm not wasting my time. Also, I don't want anyone trying to "fix" me, so why would I do that to another person?

Um, I am aromantic and asexual, why can't people understand that I AM HAPPILY SINGLE! I AM COMPLETE IN MYSELF, in fact I can't imagine anything more horrific than dating. I am as committed to being single as most people are to long term relationships, just leave me alone!

Yeah I had low expectations and got abused...so I think I'll keep them high. If there isnt anyone compatible with me then I would rather be single forever than allow myself to be hurt like that again. I'm not bitter, Im not broken hearted, I'm strong as fuck and smart too. Also @BBCThree you need to do with divorcees.

You know you've got to that age when you're dad has stopped saying "you can't date boys" to saying "have you not got a boyfriend yet? Or a girlfriend, you know we don't mind..." yeah like thanks dad, still single though
