When I listen to him, I get the same feeling I do from reading novels by the world's great writers: perfectly constructed sentences, rhythmic cadence, that includes and makes room for tangential phrases, witty jokes; and, most of all, I hear a series of thoughts that, individually have long been known to me, but collectively I had never put together as Hitchens and those writers did.

This great writing and speaking, therefore, results in a revelation, if you will: a holy smokes I never thought of it that way before---at least not completely, putting the whole thing together. That is what separates a genius from the rest of us.
