imagine you have to do a clean install every 3 to 6 months because your OS is starting to slow down. Doing backups and restoring them, then rearranging your files, it's painful!

Imagine if MS or google start to limit things and now you can only only develop windows or android apps on windows only 💀👍

Being unix based is the main reason why I moved to mac and macbook's quality is really good in general specifically the apple silicon. I missed the window management of windows but I hate that it slows really fast compared to macos or linux

Let’s not forget windows laptops have like 2h batter life after 1 year. And when they’re not plugged in they don’t perform at 100%, not even close. Also they sound like an airplane engine.

Im a linux admirer, It's a very powerful OS talking about developing, you know, Fedora, Arch, Debian, have great package manager and they run pretty smooth, but I have to admit that the new M2, M2pro Macs, are insanely powerful, they run things quite a bit faster than any linux machine, and if you are able to afford the price of a Mac I guess you should go for it, And for Win Pc, I would say the only scenario where u might need a "Windows" machine is if you are a WinForm or a powershell developer.

When I was in college, I studied both graphic design and computer science at the same time. It was great using one computer to run Adobe programs and web development on it.

Fun fact, buying a windows flagship gaming laptop equals to buying 5 macbooks at the same time.

I switched to a 2012 macbook pro a couple months ago, upgraded the ram to 16gb and storage to 512gb ssd, what i love abkut it the most ia the soeed and battery life, i also find some things easier, and the terminal commands are very similar to linux, which I'm more used to

It can run macOS and Windows. :)

It’s because max has posix heritage and most servers run posix (by way of running a Linux distro)

I’m in cyber security in pen testing role and have been on W10, using virtual machines for all of my Linux distros on the daily. I’m looking into a new laptop for work but really unsure on the jump to Mac. Being very familiar with the unix architecture, I believe I’d be good. But how about the virtualisation? Will I be able to run my native Mac OS and spin up a Kali VM easy enough? This is a huge part for me. Thanks :)
