You forgot about literally the most important topic in this debate. Right to repair. Apple is going out of their way to design their computers to not be repairable as well as spending millions of dollars fighting right to repair legislation.

Meh I use both on a daily basis and my conclusion is: who the hell cares? Neither really feels more “productive” or “intuitive”. An OS serves as a portal to the apps you need. Nothing more, nothing less. Just buy what supports all the apps you want/need and is faster for the money

I wish that the Linus channels would comment on how the Unix based environment influences many developer and data scientist choices in their computer purchases. The ability to use the MacOs terminal resembles the Unix feel so closely

I use MacOS as my primary and Windows in BootCamp for a few programs that aren't for Mac. Which is mostly games.
It's your computer, and it's your money. Use what you wanna use, and if other people have an issue with it that's their problem.

You forgot to mention the fact that macs are pretty much unrepairable. Components are mostly soldered onto the motherboard, hard to find because apple restricts who can sell (and buy) them, and are so expensive that it's cheaper to buy a new mac.

No. The design is crap, things go wrong, and in the name of 'simplicity' the computer doesn't tell you crap when things DO go wrong.

I don't like Apple because of how closed-off and controlling they are about their products. I'm of the mindset that if I buy something, it's fucking mine and I'll do what I want with it.

I love videos that compare differences between PC & Mac, but not push to take a particular side and there's truly not many out there! Most of the videos dealing in this nature usually has a person straight up spending their time bashing the other side because they know they can without giving the obvious positives that the other may have! You make extremely valid points for both sides that make sense even though there are people that are going to fall into denial no matter what is
