Helldivers 2 WORST ITEM (Laser Cannon)

Helldivers is here with some horde shooting fun. I played the first Helldivers in coop with my brothers enough to get all the equipment. Loved pretty much every aspect of it. As far as I can tell so far the sequel is the same exact game but in 3rd person. We have a lot of the awesome tools we had before such as turrets, jetpacks, and plenty of guns.

The Galaxy’s Last Line of Offence. Enlist in the Helldivers and join the fight for freedom across a hostile galaxy in a fast, frantic, and ferocious third-person shooter. This is a direct sequel to Helldivers which came out years ago. You fight a couple different alien types solo or with up to 3 friends. Switch up your gear with missiles from the sky or slow-inducing gas. All kinds of tolls can be used in combat in a variety of ways. And you will be fighting in different environments from the frigid cold mountains to the plant-infested rocky region. Take up arms and push back against the aliens who threaten humanity once more.

This video was made before the recent patch. The laser cannon is now quite good.

The laser Canon should slow whatever target it strikes, and have a heat damage radius to nearby creatures as well. That would make it more viable.

I picked this up off of a dead Helldiver and immediately understood why they died.

Unfortunately the laser cannon is terrible this time around. In the first game it was used mostly against the illuminate because it took down shields fast but it also had the punch to clear trash quickly. I hope it gets a buff because it was a gun I liked in the first game.

If you hit an automaton’s weak points, something like a hulk or a tank goes down in a few seconds. When you can beam that across the map it can be super effective

From what I've seen the laser cannon beats medium armor like hive guards, bile spewers, strider leg joints, and devastator arms so I treat it as a lesser MG. Strider front plates are considered heavy armor but the pilot is vulnerable to explosive.
Only really an ALTERNATIVE on cold planets where bullet weapons are slowed down/heat harder to build.
It's nowhere near the 1st game version.
Also definitely not a solo weapon though.

I just like to run the scythe, laser canon, rover back pack and orbital laser. 4 lasers baby!

Some guns like this may currebtly be underpowered, but with the pretty much guarantee of illuminates, it's most likely going to be meta for that race. Illumninates do not have heavy armor and have energy shields that will cancel extra damage, making railgun and recoilless the most trash you could bring. I believe some of these bad weapons will find their use once they arise.

Laser Cannon literally *just* got a buff this morning. "Increased damage against durable enemy parts, increased armor penetration, improved ergonomics."

I think that if the Lasercannon had this kind of effect where the more heated the gun is the higher the damage is it would be much better then what we have now.

That's why you run it with a scythe. You can 'almost' overheat them constantly and never lose dps. This frees up a massive amount of ammo for your team. Think outside the meta.

Patch just came out making the Laser Cannon better although I have not tested it yet. Increased damage against durable enemy parts, increased armor penetration, improved ergonomics

As an Arc thrower main, it has its own drawbacks. For example- you do deal more damage than the laser canon, but if your teammates are anywhere near your target’s side or on the other side of the target from you, you are as likely to kill your friend as you are to save them. It’s my favorite weapon, but I can see the appeal with the laser canon as “You deal less damage, but can actually choose exactly who receives it.”

On the other hand, 4 Arc Throwers paired wither either energy packs or rovers sounds scary as fuck.

I love how you mention the arc thrower, by the way the arc thrower would deal with that whole crowd at once and cant overheat :)
