"I act different around different friends, but it doesn’t feel fake. I just feel more comfortable expressing certain parts of my personality with certain people."

I met someone who did this. I don't know if they had ADHD. But one day they broke down in tears and told me, or rather everyone that was there that day. And they talked about how they can't shut it off and didn't know who they were anymore. And it made them feel so so alone and unseen.
It was heartbreaking.
And. It takes so much energy!😮

I swear every time I see your channel I think I have adhd but then by the time I see it again I’m like “*gasp* I think I have adhd” then I see it again and I’m like “*gasp* I think I have adhd”

The ability to mirror within reason is actually extremely valuable and a skill in the working world.

I act different around different friends, but it doesn’t feel fake. I just feel more comfortable expressing certain parts of my personality with certain people. So it’s kind of the opposite. Instead of putting on a different mask for every person, I am opening up a different compartment for every person. It still makes me feel awkward when my different friend groups get together. But I’m happy that I don’t struggle with feeling fake

I have never felt so called out and validated at the same time.

lol I was diagnosed with adhd super young, but we didn’t have barely any info about it, nor was it spoken about. My whole life I thought I just struggled with identity issues and that I was fake. It was a relief to find out what masking was a couple years ago. It made so much make sense for me. Thank you for educating people Olivia, you have no idea the inner turmoil your probably saving so many from ❤

The worst is when all your "separate" friends end up at one dinner party, and your personalities goes bezerk.

Always thought it was just my super power to be able to fit in with any group of people

This hit hard. I never knew it was a symptom of adhd. Been calling myself a chameleon for decades, not knowing that was actually a thing

I finally understand why networking events were incredibly stressful for me, because I never knew how to wear the right mask for so many different people in a room together

I've been told "I don't even know who you really are, you act differently around different people" and that made me realize that I have no idea

The way this has me laughing out loud in my car ALONE in a damn parking lot so that the people outside the car are looking at me like I'm insane!!! ... you didn't have to call me out like that. ❤😂
