My 3 yr old Daughter: "Daddy, I couldn't listen today because my heart wanted to play and be crazy, but my brain was like, "no we need to listen!"
Talking with her later that night I told her I had the same problems and we just have to talk and work on things a little bit each day.
Her reaction was to immediately start crying, since she thought it was just her being "bad"

I was diagnosed at 27, as a teacher I saw myself in every one of my students who had the diagnosis and it clicked it blew my mind how long it’d been missed.

Def my experience. Wasn't diagnosed until aged 38. Always been diagnosed as depressed. It was the lockdown that made me search for more answers

This is my whole experience. My psychologist told me i had despression but definitely didn’t have ADHD. Did a test online anyway, got a referral from my Doctor and went to get tested. Guess what? I *did* actually have ADHD. I’m well over 30 now and i wish i had known sooner, but at least i know now.

Thank you!! I wasn't diagnosed until 32. When I told my mom she said, "Your aunt (a special ed teacher) told us to have you tested but we ignored her because you always had straight As." Sure, I had straight As because I had small classes with great teachers and I loved school. It wasn't until I couldn't hold down a job or keep my house liveable much later in life that I got the diagnosis.

I was diagnosed with depression and anxiety when I was a teenager and was finally diagnosed with ADHD in my early 30's. Getting medication for it has been an extreme pain, though. Only recently was I put back on meds after a several year hiatus and the stress of trying to get through life with my ADHD and others not understanding and giving me a difficult time has left me with severe anxiety and now severe panic attacks.

It really annoys me that a lot of this might have been avoided had I been properly diagnosed in the first place. I told my doctors I wasn't depressed but they insisted I was but didn't know it.

Single mom 2 kids, and struggling with suspected Inattentive ADHD. I wish there was more help out here for this cause then I wouldn't feel so hopeless in my city, Im shocked there isnt more funding for this so i could get help quicker. Your channel gives me hope, keep it up!

"if you are a woman and you don't have ADHD... Actually you might" ROTFL so true. Diagnosed at 32

i got diagnosed with adhd just last week at 19, when the pressures of college began to make me fall behind in everything and i was looking for any solution to fix why i kept missing deadlines and why i couldn’t keep up. i came across your channel and i am so grateful that i did. before i had no idea what adhd actually was besides the stereotypical hyperactive male that’s always portrayed in media. i really wish adhd in women was more spoken about, because it hurts that ive been struggling my entire life and working so hard just to meet the bare minimum, and i was the only one who noticed it 18 years later.

had depressions throughout my childhood and finally self diagnosed trough the knowledge of friends. When I went to study it became obvious I was having the same issues that triggered my previous depressions and finally got diagnosed officially at 31.

Dated a guy with ADHD for 7 years. Married him. Love him. I was diagnosed with ADHD a few months ago. Never even considered it for a second because "I wasn't having the same functionality struggles that he was". I'll be damned if we don't have the most ADHD friendly-house though.

I was diagnosed at the tender age of 48. Still struggling with the self hatred, anxiety, and self esteem issues that had decades to manifest.

So true I was horrendously misdiagnosed for 18 yrs - My entire adult life up to that point. I was basically a guinea pig for psychoactive meds.

Thank you for your content. You are spot on. I have lived 95% of the symptoms you mention in your vids
❤️✨

I wish I had known about this sooner! For 17 years of my life, I had gone though a lot. Lost keys, info-dumping, hyperfixations, etc. I just never considered the fact that I might have ADHD (inattentive). Thank you so much for this channel, I plan to get my ADHD diagnosis soon!

Thank you so much for helping me self-diagnose and get help! My whole life I thought I was just a failure. You gave me so many answers and so many ways to work with my brain and not against it! I really can't thank you enough!!
