This video is impressive. You managed to keep it short and sweet without missing anything. Kept it simple while scientific. Gave all the info that will actually help people without leaving anything for clicks. And didn’t try make it sound like you have an answer that no one else knows

I'm about half way through the video and would like to say, while dropping calories or increasing exercise when you hit a plateau s o u n d s like a good idea, that consistent "my results have stalled so I have to eat less" cycle is what leads to people having to maintain on nowhere near enough calories. Instead, I would suggest mini cut cycles, so when you've been in a deficit for 2-4 weeks, you then want to spend 1-2 weeks at maintenance, and keep repeating this. Spending those few weeks at maintenance stops your body from adjusting to the deficit, without having to eat fewer and fewer calories as time goes on, it's a win win! 😊

I've watched a TON of weight loss and fitness advice videos, but this is by far the best I've ever seen. I actually have a game plan now and feel confident I can get the fit physic I've never been able to attain. Thank you.

She is telling the truth! I personally found smaller deficits to be more effective. Although my goal is to drop 20kgs (in total). I only ever work at 4kgs at a time (2kgs per month). This puts it at 0.5kg per week and also keeps the caloric deficit around 150 - 300 cal, which is manageable. The only difference is that once I've dropped the 4kgs I go straight into maintenance for about 2-3 weeks to allow my body to recover from the stress - probably why the weightloss has been slower, but there's still progress. I've lost a total of 11 kgs to date. Dropping for 101 to 90.

This is great! Also there’s a difference between “weight loss” and “fat loss” so if your goal is fat loss, weight training is super effective, because the more muscle you have on your body the more calories you can eat and shred fat most effectively. And for maintaining muscle and increased fat loss, a high protein diet is absolutely essential.

One thing that helped me with weight loss was strength training for a full year before attempting to cut weight.

For me, just building the habit of exercise combined with the practice of macro tracking allowed me to handle the calorie counting later.

Strength training allowed me to feel great about eating because you lift WAAAYYY better on a surplus.

Learning about what my body needs to lift heavy is a process that completely changed my relationship with food.

There are no “bad” foods for me now, just foods that help me feel amazing after leg day and foods that leave me faint after leg day.

Food is fuel, and strength training helped me understand which foods allow me to maintain high levels of energy.

Started calorie tracking back in October and have consistently gone to the gym since and I dropped 20 lbs and am the leanest and strongest I've ever been at almost 30yo :)

This is awesome!
I wanted to add on that those of you that are in a long term weight loss journey shouldnt stay at a calorie deficit for more than 6 months at a time maximum. Your body is constantly trying to find its "comfortable" state and will hit metabolic adaptation at around 6 months of a calorie deficit. Meaning, your maintenance calorie amount will adjust down to your calorie deficit amount so you won't see the scale number changing in the way it was before. I have my clients do a deficit for 3 months, and give them 2 weeks of going back up to the maintenance calorie amount to keep their body "confused", thus keeping it from going into metabolic adaptation. This also keeps people from going back to an unhealthy amount of eating when they get to their goal weight.

I wish there had been more than one like buttons. Whatever you mentioned is absolutely spot on. No rubbish and hanky-pankies. Very practical diet/nutrition tips and above all, the most honest and candid approach/instruction to lose proper body weight thus maintaining muscles. Diet is the most important aspect of fat/weight loss process which is deliberately neglected by the modern fitness influencers. Long live.😍

I lost 29 lbs in a few months but I did not have a post diet plan and of course, binged and gained 14 pounds. I weightlift so some of it was muscle but definitely gained fat. I wish i had a post diet plan. So now im cutting and I'll be ready next time i am off the diet. Thank you!
