Look how much development is happening in the greater Phoenix area. All that cement and asphalt contributes to higher temps.

My cousin lives in Phoenix, her husband as of two weeks ago spray painted their drive way white instead of black. He has a temp recording gun thingy he uses to record the temp of things. Before he painted the driveway it was something 116 degrees, after painting it white the next day the drive way at the same time ( around 3pm ) the temp on it was something like 92 degrees.

I'm waiting for the usual group to start posting, "It's not hotter, it's all lies, it's always been this way, it's summer, when I was a kid, it was even hotter."

The city that time forgot. What is going on she asks!? We all polluted the air, we all denied the existence of climate change, and now we’re all stuck in the stinking heat.

Folks, were just getting warmed up😢

I’m so glad I don’t have kids to pass this disaster onto. And those of you with kids, I wish them the best of luck.

It's the urban heat island. Too much concrete and asphalt and AC units pumping heat into the outdoor environment. Gotta plant more trees and install misting fans to realease more cool mist in the air.

People who say it’s summer every year usually can’t differentiate numbers between regular low 100s and then feeling 115+ for a straight week. It’s obvious to see those who are just way too oblivious or just inside all day 😂

They literally said the same thing last year at around the same time 🤘🥸🤘

When you have more asphalt and houses instead of trees and wild space don't be surprise than its getting hotter 🤷 greed and nonsense have a price💀

Phoenix is an unwitting test case. We will all gain valuable information on how global warming makes certain locations unlivable. Thank you for your service

What about Las Vegas?? We’ve actually have had hotter temperatures than Phoenix this year. Why is the heat always downplayed in Las Vegas??? In comparison to other cities

I have lived in Phoenix for decades. This summer has been the hottest, ever. I have missed out on numerous routine house and yard chores because of the temps. Have stopped taken the dogs on their routine walks. Please, just let July, August and September disappear off the Calander!

When I was a kid we'd have maybe one or two weeks where the temps would get into the 1teens, but i also remember not being able to swim at night because it used to cool off down in to the 60s or 70s and was too cold. I moved because the heat got to be too much. I always used to tell my family in the midwest that I'd glady take 100 in Phoenix over 90 in St. Louis, but um... yea i want nothing to do with a month straight of 115. I remember one June in the early 90s where it hit 120 and then 122 and everyone freaked out, but unfortunately that seems to be where the normal is headed.
