My mom and dad had a 16 years gap. They had a loving solid marriage. He left way too soon. She widowed at 46 and never dated ever!. When I asked her 10 years after his passing why she didn’t date and got a new husband, she answered me “I have my love, I know we will meet again, then how will I explain to him that I got another man when he left?, besides I have no desire to share the rest of my life with another man”. So yeah true genuine love does exist, it doesn’t matter the age gap between a couple.

My late husband was 23 years older than me! After he passed away, (about a year later) I found a basket in the top of his closet, it had every card, note, letter and scrap piece of paper, that I had ever given him in chronological order dating back to 1995.

He even had scrap pieces of paper that he had written my Hotel phone numbers on, after he received the information from dispatch... depending on which City I was dispatched in with the City's name, Hotel name and room number. I can estimate a date based on the piece above and below it. That really blew my mind.

I will never ever love anything more than this newfound treasure left to me.
