A small correction: the reason you're not getting 300+ fps on CS is not due to your GPU. It's purely your CPU. Your GPU is snoring from dusk till dawn and even during the day with games like that. It's all down to your CPU clockspeed. Now, I don't know what CPU you're running, but even my 3700x (not exactly a high-fps CPU) runs CS competitive matches at 400-600fps never dropping below 400.

400 fps in CS/OW/Valorant has got nothing to do with the GPU when it comes to 1080p at low settings. It's entirely CPU/Memory bound. There are videos of people with a GTX 1060 getting 400+ fps in thoes games during heavy teamfights.

Thanks for the review. While I do agree with many of your points. Pricing arguments really felt a bit miss. Really this monitor is aimed for a very niche esport market who always want the fastest of the fast. And compared to direct competition like XL2456K or other 360Hz variants this one is actually often a bit cheaper or similarly priced yet technically better (whether we personally think it's meaningful or not). So there's kind of value aspect too. And if you're really in that niche market, this one is a really solid choice. CS:GO is really CPU dependent and by using even the entry level of latest Ryzen 5 CPU's should get you solid +400fps no problem.

bro how do you not know your graphics card barely makes an impact in csgo let alone at that tiny res? I run csgo at 500 fps plus

Nice review. I have to point out a few things.

The GPU really isn’t the problem in your case with CS GO. At 1080p with competitive settings, your GPU is definitely not even close to being maxed out while you are only getting like 180-250 FPS. The problem is your CPU. I know you said you have an i9 9900k. I have one too. There’s a lot more to it than that though. Do you have top-tier RAM with super low latency and high frequency? Is your CPU overclocked to 5.1 GHz or more? To push those kinds of frames, we would have to be doing that. Also, Ryzen 5000 and the upcoming Alder Lake CPUs are probably much better in CS GO. Anyway, with my i9 9900k I can get over 300 FPS on CS at pretty much all times. Is your Windows optimized and do you have all of the background crap disabled? To try out 390 Hz better, maybe try a custom map on CS or Valorant.

Also, the people buying this kind of monitor would almost certainly not want to be using SLI (multiple GPUs). The alternative rendering adds substantial input lag and wouldn’t really help for pushing these frames. It really is all about CPU and RAM, except in cases like COD where a top GPU would also be required (alongside the other two).

It’s only 400-450$ at micro center in the US but you can get it in store only at micro center for $330 now!

I’ll counter you on this. Would the screen have been any cheaper if they had spec’d it at 360Hz? To be completely honest, I think what’s more likely is the panel was always technically capable of 390Hz, but the G-Sync module on the higher end 360Hz panels created a level of response delay that made 390Hz unusable. This screen, according to Bijan Jamshidi, outperforms every other 360Hz screen on the market because it isn’t a G-Sync panel. I honestly think it’s freakin’ cool. I’d definitely sell my G7 for this if they began to sell it in South Africa. We never get cool shit though :/.

One good thing to note, motion perception is VERY different from ppl to ppl, some will not be able to bare even the slightest amount of delay and will cause them nausea or incomfort.

Nice review, what do you prefer for gaming, this or the AOC 24G2ZU 240hz you just reviewed about a week ago? I know the AOC has basically the most matured 240hz panel available atm and this 360hz overclocked panel is basically a first gen I’m unsure as to which to get and you’re literally the only person who has tried both monitors. Assuming I play 50/50 400+ fps and -240fps games, which would you get? Which is the best performer in best case scenarios? Would really appreciate your stand on this. Thanks in advance!

as long as you have a ryzen 5000 series cpu paired with a 2060 you can easily get like 600 fps in csgo

I'm looking to buy a new monitor for high fps gaming. I was going to get a 240hz because I've seen some ppl say it's not really worth going past 240hz. But I'm not 100% sure
You think I should just go for this one or the best 240hz 1080p monitor you have in the description?

I mostly play COD, Apex, and some sports game.

I have a 3070ti and Ryzen 3070 ti.

I had this monitor for a couple months, I hate it. 😂 The 240hz BENQ even feels smoother on the movement in my opinion. Might switch mine out for a BENQ again.

Csgo is a very slow game to test motion blur you should ask a skilled Quaker to try both 360 and 144 blindfolded

Is the pixel respons time on this IPS as fast as 240Hz TN montors like those from zowie? Same motion sharpness?
