I have a significant vision impairment, and seeing certain motions on displays can be extremely disorienting for me. I bought this display on sale per Optimum Tech’s recommendation and it completely fixed my issue. I went from being confused why I couldn’t consistently track in games despite having good mechanics, to what feels like completely natural motion. I cannot recommend it enough.

As always, great review!

7:21 I'm quite confident in Acer using some sort of overvolted backlight for the XV252QF, brightness with VRB Normal + what I assume is 60~70% off duty cycle is just too high for Acer to be using a standard backlight, this is great and I hope that more manufacturers will pair overvolted backlights with strobing.

Before the Acer, Zowie was the only manufacturer that I'm aware of to have used overvolted backlights (If I remember correctly Qisda takes AUO panels and install custom backlight, Qisda also owns Zowie).

Truthfully, I came from a 1440p 34" 144hz ultrawide to this. For me personally, I prefer a smaller screen because I don't have the best eye-sight, and I was slightly worried about the 1080p. At first I did notice a downgrade but nothing you don't really get used to. If you're into competitive gaming, and do college work as well as other stuff such as video editing, and graphics and you're coming from an ultrawide I highly recommend trying to switch over. The biggest issue I have with larger screens (27"+) is the amount of eye movement and head movement I have to do. Loving this monitor and pairing with with a 1440p LG 24" in portrait mode!

This monitor vs the 240hz ips viewsonic monitor that made it on the blur buster 2.0 approval for motion clarity would be a good video

Hi. I know it's a long time from making this vid. Really enjoyed watching this, and wanted to ask a question. Is it worth upgrading especially from the omen x 25 for mainly fortnite competetive?

I have weird problem with Zowie monitors.

I was using AOC 24G2 24" 144hz IPS monitor and had 0 problems with my eyes.
After that I wanted to upgrade to 240hz IPS so I bought Dell S2522HG 24.5 (discount, that's why I bought it). Dell is bad for comp gaming (at lest that is my experience).

I was so disappointed, and talking to my friend he told me just to go for Zowie XL2546K and it will be the best buy in my life.

Why not, I sold Dell, bought Zowie and it was amazing. I was so good at the game, K/D went up, elo start building up,

Until my eyes start hurting. I lower brightness, color, I even turned of DyAC+ cause of backlight strobing that you can see on your camera.

Nothing helped, so I visit doctor.
After doctor checked my eyes, he thought it was an infection. My eyes were hurting, they were so sensitive to light, even when I walk outside. It was terrible.

Imagine a streamer that can't look at the screen. Yea, that was me.

I got 4 different drops for my eyes, used that, used protection glasses, still nothing was better.

So I made a pause from streaming, went for vacation and my eyes got better without meds, only sun and resting.

When I came back home, start working, same shit again. Trust me, I do not sit at my pc whole day. I love sun, I workout, I walk in the forest, I go for hiking. I am active throughout the whole day.

I just new it was Zowie monitor.

Sold it, bought AOC AGON 360hz. Eyes got better, everything good, but AOC AGON is bad monitor for competitive gaming xD

I was playing like that for few months, and BOOM new zowie monitor came out.
360hz, perfect picture, best monitor out there.

Me idiot, called a guy so I can import that new monitor, told my self that this is better tech than 240hz, that I will watch at what color or brightness I play, etc.

XL2566K is amazing monitor. I was flying, killing, it felt like cheating for how good Zowie monitor is. Everything was great.
But, as with 240hz Zowie monitor, same shit start happening.

My eyes are hurting again, it doesn't matter if I lower every settings down. Now I am writing this with sunglasses on (it is not a joke), brightness 0, black EQ 0. It does not help.

I went from top player, top frager, to a guy with inconsistent aim, not able to carry my team. You can't keep your focus when you eyes are hurting and burning.

Now, I called the same guy to import Acer XV252QF and I hope it will be great for competitive and for my eyes.

I bought the 280Hz version. I really recommend. It is a good deal for the money.

Ok although I highly doubt someone is actually going to find this useful, if you want to use adaptive sync on this monitor for lower refresh rate gaming but are sad about the fact that overdrive is non adjustable, you can use CRU (custom resolution utility) to bump up the LFC floor to around 170hz, achieving a single overdrive experience,

This monitor is also able to overclock to 400hz, there's a hard-lock limit after that though. Requires some workarounds and disabling the OC mode (custom res in CRU) but free refresh rate is free refresh rate :D

I am happy with my Asus VG259Q. 144Hz is more than enough anything beyond that the response has diminish returns.

Hey bro, I've had this monitor for a while and recently a friend bought another acer 144 hz model, we were configuring the colors and his monitor had the option to save the settings in: (some mode) but my monitor that is 390 hz doesn't have it, I can save the settings in some mode but the color settings don't save! can you help me?

Hi @techless Thanks for the review. When adjusting the colors, does one need to change both gain and bias to 50/50/49 or is it just gain that needs to be changed?

Hey love your monitor reviews! They are so useful! Quick question, in terms of pure display performance would you recommend the LG 24GN650 or the Asus VG249Q, they are currently both the same price. Greatly appreciated!
