This is a great summary. Thank you, Dr. Brownstein! I am a physician that practices age management medicine as well, and have for25 years now. The only thing that I would respectfully like to add is that some people when starting iodine will feel a little off for a week or two. This is because iodine can also cause A type of detoxification of the body, and this is known as iodine flu. It is not harmful and passes in a few days.

I just started supplementing with Iodine (as well as Liposomal Selenium) I get it in liquid form and you put a drop on your tonge. Seconds after I put it on my tonge in the morning I get a surge in energy! Its amazing I no longer need Caffeine! and feel great all day

I would prefer natural sources such as kelp, the recommended is a cheap anorganic salt, don´t know about the bioavailability but usually organic products are better absorbed

To make it simple for everyone: if you are using iodine drops that are in a 2.0% to 2.5% solution, and if you are aiming to take the 25 mg daily dose that this doctor is recommending, then simply add 10 drops to water that has a little pinch of Himalayan or Celtic salt in it. That's 25 mg of iodine. And if you're feeling sick or you're going on a plane etc, you can up it to 15 to 25 drops

The multivitamin I take contains 150 mcg (micrograms) of iodine. So, jumping to 25 mg (milligrams) kicks up my daily dose by a factor of 150 or so. Not convinced that I want to do that ...

Correlation with cancer doesn’t mean causality. Other things have increased like processed food intake, vegetable oils, obesity.

It would be good to point out that 25 mg is 167x the RDA of 150 mcg. Kelp tablets just won't be enough. You would need to take 167 kelp tablets each day and that would give you too much arsenic.

I agree with taking 25mg of iodine daily but what do you take as well together with the iodine? zinc, magnesium, vit B2, vit B3, Vit C, selenium? in what amounts? how do you detox the bromai or fluoride? do you take any breaks of taking the supplements at some point?
