How to Crochet the Tight Continuous join as you go (CJAYGO)

Hi Everyone,
This tutorial shows you how to crochet the tight continuous jaygo. It's the exact same as any other cjago except instead of slip stitching into just our spaces between clusters, we slip stitch into the top of every stitch along the side of our squares. This forms a nice solid seam for things that are heavy or have lots of drape.

Yarn used in the tutorial: WeCrochet Wool of the Andes Tween in colour Picket Fence with a size 5mm hook.

Happy crocheting!
M

Thank you so much for this tutorial! It’s exactly the kind of join I’ve been looking for to use on the sleeve/shoulder seam of my first hexagon cardigan! I’ll feel so much better with such a sturdy seam there and I love the little zigzag detail. Someday, I’ll have to attempt a blanket with it too!

I love this technique ❤!!!! It makes a beautiful joining border and the finished look is fabulous! You are right, it lays nice and flat. The raised connecting edges really create a lovely look around all of the squares. After I got used to the steps after the first 2-3 blocks, it was so easy and quick. Best joining technique I’ve ever done. Thank you for sharing !! 🥰🧶🥰

I am so very new at crocheting but it's so much fun! I learned how to do your sunburst granny square and I absolutely love it! Ive had to buy more yard in lots of bright colors so I can make my granddaughter a blanket. You crochet so fast! By the time you finish one side, I'm still trying to work one set of DC 🤣but it's so much fun. You're the only "tutor" I watch and I'm so thankful for you! Crocheting has always been my passion. My grandmother didn't know how and neither does my mother. I wanted to learn so I could pass it down to my girls and my granddaughters. It seems to be a dying art I guess cuz people are lazy and would rather buy the already made item. This is unique, one of a kind and comes from the heart! Thank you again and I love you girl!

I am loving making this blanket. I am using Cascade 220 wool so I splice the ends together for a continuous strand.

Wonderful instructions - thank you! It was a bit tricky at first, but like you said - once you get the hang of it it's such a great way to join blanket squares
