Tension is a real pain in the butt. Who’s with me? 🙋🏻‍♀️ Which tension tip in this tutorial helped you the most?

I'm an absolute beginner and my tension is so tight that my first project is curling. Thank you so much for this tutorial. I'll do my best to work on my tension. I'm very determined to get this right!

I’m a beginner and I’ve been very inconsistent with sometimes too tight and then too loose! The tips on how to hold the yarn look super helpful though and I cannot wait to try! Thank you for making this video!

dude the demonstration you gave for tight crocheters is exactly how it was going for me, it was hard to push back through the chain and to pull the loops of the strings, i was doing exactly what you showed. i havent finished the vid yet but i’m hoping i can learn some tips to get more comfortable.

I just discovered this tutorial and I enjoyed it very much! Now, I'm not really a beginner (I learned how to crochet 45 years ago, at elementary school.) What I like to point out is that your crochet result is as unique as your handwriting. We can both do everything exactly the same and still have different results. The most important thing is what you said, Sigoni: It has to feel natural. So for everyone who is learning: keep practising and enjoy your crochet journey! 🙂

It always starts off great. But then after a while, I notice that my project is starting to get wider, even though the stitch count is the same. It’s so frustrating because I don’t feel like I’m doing anything different from the beginning to end 😫

Hi!
A week old crochet learner here. I was trying to work with the hook and the yarn to start crocheting, but was not able to hold it properly to get the stitches done for a week or so. Your tutorial made it possible. I could do 20 chain stitches at one go. Thank you so much!

I’ve been knitting for about ten years now and tension in knitting is much tighter in knitting than it is in crocheting. I’m still working on unlearning my knitting knowledge when it comes to crocheting. This video helped me out a lot!

I’m pretty sure I’m a tight crocheter. My samples are very wavy and looks like a rainbow shape. And I notice some spots in the crochet have holes in them. I must be increasing my stitches without realizing it. I’ll try your advice and see how it works. Do you have any other recommendations?

Thanks for the tutorial. I always find while watching crochet tutorials I zone in on how fiber artists hold their hooks and control tension..you're the 1st I've noticed an exact match to me knife & tension...so cool. stay safe❤

I love the tension regulator. Such a simple and obvious (not so obvious) solution. I've bought multiple tension rings that i found unbearable to use because it would be so tight that my finger would numb or too loose that i kept having to adjust it. Its genius

Thank you so much for posting this! I was so close to giving up cuz I'm my chain stitches were so tight & was finding it so difficult to pull my hook through. This video is a life saver!

Not new, but I learned super young and never did much more than a messy single crochet. I’ve been learning bigger projects and more stitches, and this has really helped make them more even.

JUST started learning to crochet last night & have watched 4 other ppl. I have to say you are THE BEST teacher BY FAR! TYSM 4making these videos! I'm such a visual & hands on learner. You make it so easy to learn from video & u EVEN show us how to do this left Holy cow! 🤯😱 I'm ambidextrous & am trying to figure out which hand is more comfortable for me. U have made me a happy, happy person & I feel so successful today after being so frustrated last night. Thanks for easily teaching me how to hold my yarn, make an easy magic circle while defining which stitches are what as you go. Your pace is perfect too! Wanted to give u some praise bc it's not easy to teach in a way that caters to learning as if in person. Also appreciate the updated videos! You're a blessing for me.💜💜

I’ve been crocheting since I was a child (I am 33 now), my grandma taught me how to do it and I would like to believe I am pretty good at it. But she never talked about tension, so I came here to learn what that was all about. Great video! Also, love the yarn you are working with! What is it called?

Thank you for this clearly explained tutorial. I've been crocheting for decades and noticed that different yarns require different tension techniques. For example, right now I'm working with a sport-weight acrylic yarn that's super slippery. To control tension with this yarn, I wrap it twice around my pinky, over and under, then wrapped around my pointer finger. For bulky yarns, no looping needed. Trial and error should solve any challenge. Now I'm going to make a tension regulator gadget -- that sounds so cool and could help with my slippery yarn.

As an extreme beginner I have discovered that I am a loose tension crocheter and I've been struggling with maintaining my grip on the yarn. This tutorial is going to make it so much easier to practice! Thank you so much for this!

OMG! You are such a life saver. I have only just come across your videos now and I am thinking why I haven't seen your videos before. Thank you much. My siblings have told me that I have the possibility of selling my creations but I needed a couple of hints and tricks to help me with my tension and you have done what I have been looking for. Tysm. I am very grateful.

I am new to crocheting and holding the hook/yarn has been the most difficult thing for me to master - at one point l was putting the yarn over as you do with knitting! I will practice some of these techniques, thank you! 🙏🏻

Brand new to crochet over here, and having the way I initially started holding my hook and yarn, match yours, makes me feel better about the beginning of my journey. :)
