Without meaning to sound rude, Mark Wolters would stand out as the obvious American to me.
You guys will merge right in with your style.

This is good advice for travelling to Italy and certain other parts of Europe. I would say that almost none of it applies to the UK.

My advice (for the UK anyway) is wear what you want and don't worry too much. Best thing is to be comfortable and to be ready for any climate, even in the summer.

I sometimes wonder whether Mark Wolter green screens his videos and has actually left the US. Visit every major city in England and you'll see baseball caps, cargo pants, Adidas/Nike etc footwear, sweatshirts etc. Wear clothes you actually feel comfortable and natural in and you'll blend in better. The only thing is don't wear things with US flags on etc.

Those English caps are called "flat caps" and I think you'd look good in one! Something that always makes tourists stand out here in London is when they're dressed to go hiking when they're just walking around a modern city with public transport: everyone else is wearing normal work clothes or casual clothes and the tourists are the ones in the safari pocket vests with bulging back packs, a water bottle and hiking boots.

Im wearing three of these things at the moment here in the UK.

But socks and sandals NO!

I'm an American living in Europe almost all my life. Almost everything Wolter says is complete crap.

You don't see many people wearing baseball caps, but other than that, almost every young person walks around in sweat pants, hoodies, sneakers, and khakis. Except when going out, or at your job. Obviously.

Just come over and have a good time guys 😉

If he wasn't literally filming this in Europe I would assume he has never been to Europe. I've never seen this guy give any even remotely accurate advice.

The UK is slightly different from skmeparts of Europe. Jeans and trainers are common and at the 1st hint of sun out come the shorts and the T shirts. Once you get out of london you won't get tourist problems either.

The price of brollies (umbrella’s) don’t fluctuate depending on the amount of rain. If they did they would be permanently expensive!🤣

I live in the Uk and have travelled extensively in Europe and have to say that Mark Wolters' video is absolute nonsense. Just wear what you feel comfortable in, no one will call you out.

It doesn't matter what you wear, as soon as you speak to each other, or other mannerisms, people are going to know that you are tourists anyway, because you will be looking around at sites, or trying to find out where you are or need to go. Just relax, wear what you are comfortable, but obviously keep an eye out as you would visiting any large city.

Good grief, this man’s channel is appalling! Please ignore everything he says!

It’s fine to wear a baseball cap, lots of Brits wear them! My partner has several.

‘Khaki pants’ are fine too! If someone is going to pickpocket you they’ll do it regardless of what you are wearing. Just take the same precautions you would in any big city in the USA.

Sports wear, again, perfectly fine, a lot of British people wear it! I wear yoga pants all the time.

I’d say do wear your college sweatshirt, you earned the right. And it’s not going to make you a more likely target for criminals.

Do wear sports shoes, they are the most comfortable thing to wear if you are on your feet all day!

I’m starting to think this guy uses a green screen, because he appears not to have travelled to the UK for at least 40 years!

Clothing depends on place, occasion, weather and time of day. Never, ever put your wallet in your trousers (pants to you) back pocket.

When you stand put as a tourist, you become vulnerable to con artists, pick pockets and so on, because you’re easier to trick.

A tip for when you're in London (take it or leave it at your own discretion) it is SUPER obvious that you're American tourists when you either wear cargo shorts with a cap (worn forwards or backwards) or when you wear ANYTHING with the union Jack on it.
Pick pockets or people trying to rip you off with aim straight for you.
