Some common things Alyssa and I noticed about American tourists while abroad (including ourselves). Watch us in action doing some good ol' generalizing and stereotyping !! ♥

Quick video in the amazing city of Amsterdam. :)

Drinking Starbucks while you walking, that's a way to scream to the word "hey people, I'm an American!"

As an American it's pretty easy to spot an American abroad. It doesn't matter if an American is of European, African, or East Asian descent.

-Accent and tone of voice
-Habit of smiling often
-Having a glance at their passport while waiting in customs
-Baseball caps and sporty clothes
-etc.

I heard a couple of American tourists in a Coles supermarket(Australia)yesterday, and the first thing I heard was in America such-and-such. Why do they always have to say in America it's this way, in America it's that way? Who gives a shit, your in another country, and all you can do is compare us to America!

The true crime against fashion is how German men wear capris. Truly devastating.

The lighting on the building was in the colours of the Belgian flag. Out neighbouring country that just had had the bombings t the airport and subway a few days before you posted this video. They weren't random colours.

When I was last in Paris, Stan Smith Adidas were everywhere; worn by Parisian women. There is another YouTube video series where a woman walks around Amsterdam asking people about their style. Lots of H&M.

The reason that building was black on the left side, yellow in the middle and red on the right side was because that's the Belgian flag 🇧🇪 because there had been a double bombing in Belgium three days before you uploaded this video @Alex Webb, that's another way to spot Americans, by there ignorance ...

Sneakers, baseball hats, loud tee shirts, even louder talking, remarks like "yeahhh!! we saved your ass in the WWII war". Dine or eat in any place with the hats on, smoke all over the place flicking cigarette butts .Make rude comments when women pass by, demand to pay with dollars in the Euro zone, walk around while eating and insist that "everything is soooo much better in the USA!! or demanding for people to understand your language!!
Need I go on??....and I mean NOT ALL Americans do it but some do making a cliche
seem true.

I'm an American, and I don't try to hide it when I travel. So what? And I think baseball caps are very practical. You you don't like it, tough!

Also, at restaurants, americans order water first before any other drink or meal and seem very dissatisfied when it's a tiny 3€ glass bottle of water. 😁

Actually, I don't think Europeans dress nicer, because I saw a lot of very well dressed people when I was in Canada :) It's just that there's no such think as an "average", "global" style. It's more "harmonized", so to speak, in Europe, while there are differences in terms of "level", "sophistication" of style between people in America (not speaking about being gothic or rapper, really like "everyday normal look"). However, I must say that, when on vacation, there really is a difference between Europeans and Americans, that is true, and, indeed, I have to admit that we, Europeans, don't share the same vision of "casual" as your have, in this case :p
