The first part is rubbish, everyone wears all sorts of clothes.
The comments on clothes are not true.
People wear all sorts. Wearing sports shoes is universal, we call them trainers, wearing while socks pulled up makes you stand out as a tourist
The thing that gets them robbed is the lack of care of valuables, the Khaki pants or trousers are easy to pick pocket, that's why you don't carry valuables in the pockets

Wear what's comfortable
In Italy the tourists stand out because no one dresses as stylishly as the Italians

Hoodies are common enough in Nordic countries, climate is a bit colder and summers are milder. Hoodies would be way too hot for large part of the year in warmer areas of Europe. Hoodie is fine even during summer, just not the hottest days. But for most of the summer a hoodie should be fine.

The only thing I would say you normally wouldn't wear is the sports wear. There are plenty using Caps but not backwards.

I'm English born and bred and I always wear a cap so take any of this with a pinch of salt

He is talking BS, if you come to Europe and to Sweden where I'm from you can wear anything you like Tysheen.

These are valid only specific countries, and the title of the video should be "avoid these clothes if you don't want to stand out as a tourist"

In the UK sure wear your US clothing, its not a problem. When you open your mouth then people will know you're an American. On main land Europe, France, Germany, Italy sure blend in with locals as the guy says.

1. France especially speak French, you can be looked down on for not speaking French, try but don't struggle.
2. Germany speak English they do wear Adidas footwear though as its German company and Pumas. If you like Adidas trainers (pumps) they have exclusive ones you can't find anywhere else on Earth, only in Germany.
3. Italy wear slip on shoes real leather, be warned Italy has scooter boys that will surround tourists and rob them real fast. Italian hands are also used for pick pocketing so put valuables in a tight front pocket, hard to pick pocket that is tight. Italians speak good English, except for the elderly, they don't bother to learn English.
I have nothing but respect for every national, but some countries have their own reputations as described above. I think I'm being fair, please let me know if some of it is wrong.
I can't comment on any of the other countries as I have not been there, yet.

Tbh, the university logo shirts are also sold in Europe...and a TON of stuff that tries to scream I LOVE AMERICA! Not everyone wearing one is an American here. A lot of the stuff will have typos too, which is a hilarious byproduct. Some are completely unintelligible Asian-made products. I had to get one a few years back cause it had a poorly drawn Camaro on it and the text said "Road to Nowhere - RIDE ON. CAR on the Endless. driver. I've got the RADIO turned On."

Being of a certain age, the most obvious Americanism that I noticed when I started watching YouTube videos, was American men wearing hats indoors all the time. Which would have been unheard of to my parents generation.

Hi Tysheen, this guy is talking absolute BS to the millionth degree.

Dress in Europe is virtually the same as the US. I wear sports wear and hoddies virtually daily here in the UK and so do mainland Europeans. The main thing you recognise if a person is American is primarily obesity, incredibly loud talking and generally looking lost.

But wear what you want! Im from London but visited most of Europe and no one will take a second look - in fact it would celebrated. European nations are incredibly open and liberal. Thanks for your reviews darling! Plus you’re not gonna be mugged or pickpocketed if you’re American. London for example is over 50% multinational, much like Paris, Berlin etc..

Baseball caps - I disagree.
Khaki pants - wore some today, and I’m not alone.
Athletic clothes - I practically live in them, but not in the shops (not always.
Hoodies - very popular here.
Sweatwhirts with U-names, etc. - very common.
Sport shoes - I disagree.

Nope. In fact I disagree with everything he said 😳🤷🏻.
Clothes is NOT what will give you away as an American 😆.
Greetings from Norway.

The biggest advice I'd give to American toursts, especially those travelling in a group, is to speak at a volume appropriate for your surroundings. You know how a group of annoying noisy kids of a bus/train sounds? That's, sadly, what groups of American tourists sound like. Also, if you are in the group on a train, unless there is plenty of space on the train, don't put your backpacks on the seats. Other people have more right to a seat than your packpack.

Hi Tysheen! I’m from Portugal and I advise you to read Anthony Glee’s commentary! No one cares what you wear and yes, people go shopping wearing sports clothes, also! Like your reactions a lot! Stay safe.

Yes, I m used to wearing gym pants only when I go for a walk into forest or biking in forest, or when working in my garden. I would be feeling strange wearing it on streets of a city :)
