Are 4K gaming monitors good for hardcore competitive gaming? What do you think?

I think 4K will become the norm in competitive shooters as well when GPUs will be able to drive 240Hz+ on these monitors at budget levels. The reason is the incredible pixel density will allow for actual clearer vision of far away enemies and easier targeting.

Higher resolution is so huge even in comp shooters, 24-25 inch 1440p needs to become the competitive norm, 1080p should sbe a budget option not a competitive one lol.

I went from 1080p tn 360hz to 1440p oled 360hz and i am more than happy with this. I was hesitating with the 1080p tn 540hz and i am very happy to have picked the Oled 360hz 1440p. So much more detail, that image is so clean and nice, and it is also much easier on the eyes. I do not feel any noticeable input lag compared to my previous 360hz 1080p.

Went from 1080p 180hz to 1440p 240hz monitor. I’m liking it so far. 1440p just has the best of both worlds offering better resolution and enough hz for competitive games.

I still have a PS4 and when I play Warzone on a 1080p monitor it looks awful! Very pixelated, blurry and definitely not enough detail is rendered. It looks better on my Samsung UHD television. I’m not a professional gamer so I’ll sacrifice refresh rate for more detail in the game

I just upscale to 4k on my 1440p gaming monitor. Best of all worlds atm :>

I play everything at 120FPS and it's playable enough for me.
