That's it. This is the article that made me buy the game. I am literally so tired of "journalists" like that, that I buy games just because they cry about them.

Imagine supporting a good product by buying, enjoying and giving it positive word of mouth. And getting blamed for it.

Let me guess. The people behind this hit piece are the last remaining Concord and Dustborn players?

We not getting another Ghost of Tsushima incident. They didn’t give that game the respect it deserved and labeled it offensive when it wasn’t. They ain’t gonna do the same with Black Myth Wukong.

I may not like the Chinese government but the fact that games that came from Chinese developers really show that at this point we're just gonna enjoy games coming from over seas instead from the west.

This whole DEI stuff is why games like concord failed spectacularly

Gaming "journalist" shall stay mad, while gamers shall keep groovin'

"It's possible a similar phenomenon happened to PlayStation's Stellar Blade, where a series of articles about the misogyny and objectification contained in the game ultimately worked to drive engagement."

Then, why write all those incendiary articles? If games journalists weren't trying to pull the "holier than thou" act and just shove their ideologies up their asses, these games wouldn't be as successful, and they would be happy. But, with all these hit pieces, they just guaranteed the success of games like Stellar Blade, Hogwarts Legacy and Black Myth: Wukong, regardless of their objective quality. Games journalists just can't stop shooting themselves at their feet, but that's just tradition by now.

Every game that sells well that they told people not to buy lives rent free in their heads. Still bringing up Stellar Blade and Hogwarts Legacy really shows how personally they took those games’ success.

I like how they say "we checked the translations independently" but don't clarify anything about it. What a lousy bunch. They must think only 100 people on Earth can read Chinese by themselves.

They honestly think it's their job to "dissuade" gamers from games for strictly ideological reasons. Psychpaths.

When creative and passionate devs are replaced by cynical accountants and execs. When real gamers're replaced by quick-insta-fame-fake-gurus. By people who, back in the day, considered anyone of us who was computer savvy or a gamer, or had a Myspace profile to be 'a loser'. Now they use our tech to make sick money, share their vanity and destroy self-esteem of others. I recently made a deep dive video about X360 as the last great generation, I don't want to be right...

I am loving how the gaming community, regardless of gender, sexual identity, race, age, or financial status, all agree that these jurnos need to go.

Beautiful.

When Wikipedia is edited to certify Assassin Creed's Yasuke as a samurai it's OK, but when an exaggerated claim not even directly related to Wukong is taken out it's Chinese censorship.

This really is straight outta the “Quit Having Fun” Meme. Stellar Blade and Wukong are just fun and very cool games. That’s literally all you need for a game to sell.

Wukong is a great game. Don't let any "journalist" tell you otherwise

"Gamergaters"
It's still actually funny to me how that gets thrown around whenever there's any gaming-related controversy that the journalists don't like, when the *entire point* of GamerGate was "hey, have you noticed how game journalists have, like, no morality or journalistic integrity? What's up with that, why are we even listening to these people?"

EDIT: Wait, did they just try to compare Black Myth: Wukong to God of War: Ragnarok *as a negative?!* I've already seen people going over the interesting mythology and storytelling of the new God of War games in multi-hour long videos, praising the beautiful scenery and the way it presented various mythological figures in new, interesting ways. The game drew people's interest towards mythology. Wukong is doing the same thing, I've only watched a few hours of gameplay and it has already gotten me to look up who certain characters were, so I could understand the context in between the fights. I don't know how you can think making such a comparison works in a dismissive "I know better than you cuz I'm a paid a̶d̶v̶e̶r̶t̶i̶s̶e̶r̶ critic" tone, knowing how GoW/Ragnarok got such positive reception and deep lore inspection.

Considering a legend being told within China for centuries as just "a tale with pretty trees" is just so fucking wild.
