Hey Eric. I clip wires, cables, ribbons, etc from old electronics and throw them in a box. When I get a box or two full, I take them in to my local recycling center. Got about $60 last time I went. I'm about ready to take in another box soon. Cheers!

Do you use a fume extractor or something like that during all that desoldering? So far I've spent only a little time desoldering stuff, but recently I've been playing with the idea of salvaging parts and from what I've heard, when you desolder a lot, the fumes can be really unhealthy.

lol, you have me beat, I save more parts I strip off boards and other parts. Half the time I can't find them when Im looking.
