15 Things We Learn From the Chasm | Genshin Impact Lore/Theory

With Patch 2.6 and the Chasm's release, we get a whole bunch of lore that covers a wide variety of topics. With this much lore, I figured I'd create a list of 15 interesting things we learn from the Chasm. The topics of this list cover things like Sumeru, the Fatui, Khaenri'ah, and even Yelan. It's crazy how much lore was packed into this patch and I hope you guys enjoy this video!

The quest with the 9th company is a reference to real events at height 3234, the battle in Afghanistan that took place in 1988. The names and motto of the soldiers are also a reference to real ones.

5:13 These rocks really look like the ability that the sustainer of heavenly principles used to catch the twin at the beginning of the game.

There is a theory about Klee's constellation: trifolium that brings luck to let Klee being grounded to avoid the danger under the chasm

There is also the Drop of the Black Serpents called "The Orb of the Blue Depths." There are 9 total Black Serpents and each drops the orbs (they drop when you defeated them for the first time). The orbs can be used to unlock a secret room somewhere in the chasm. Then you will see a secret letter that only a certain line that can be readable (although its Kaenri ah language, so gotta need translation for that). There are 12 lines total in the letter, and the readable line is randomly visible by players, so gotta find players who had a different line from yours. The translation is based on "Catallus 58B."

Boracious(Electro Yaksha) may also be introduced as the new artifact set looks like it follows his purple colour scheme from xiao's story cut scene

I think the ruins belong to the same people that reigned over the Enkanomiya, both have the exact same architecture, including those doors that are at an angle and are partitioned in 3 parts. It's also interesting how the city is inverted like that Statue of The Seven we found in the We Will Be Reunited quest.
The part that I liked the most was the Fatui, it's interesting how Katarina mentions that every person in Snezhnaya believes that there will come a day where everybody will have to come together to face a greater threat, and that's why they do the things they do.

Childes story quest was post liyues archon quest, aka he's very consequential summon of osial and he's training fatui right in front of the chasm as they are all dumped by himself kekw

-That seed is definitely a quest item that'll be used in Sumeru.
- It's confirmed now after Enka books, buildings, furnitures, leftover books & scrolls AND *The sunchildren statues* both in Enka & Chasm (ngl when I noticed those in the pool room I had to pause for few minutes and stared in awe and in shock like ohhh myy Goood...wow just wow mhy) that Teyvat used to be a SINGLE civilisation. So far the only traces of humans we found are only in Vindagnyr and Enka tho like actual human writings or quest items with direct dialogues of people in those times. Just what happened to the Primordial and his shades tho why did they left Enka sunk and now Chasm too? it looks that it fell from sky above upside down.
-The way you find the references is epic lol the relation with Haftvad and the worm definitely indicates towards Khaenriah's destruction.

8:00 -9:00 I'm REALLY looking forward to this video please! 😂I literally went to these knights EVERY day to see their dialogues and try to conclude what exactly happened. I'm trying to dig among Norse myth Gods from what we found to find some hints. For now I kinda think...see these words are associated with Odin *Sky, War, Death, Wisdom, Poetry, and Magic* idk may be i'm thinking too hard but doesn't this reminds of Khaenriah? Sky-Celestia, War-the cataclysm, Death - the demise of the people of a glorius nation without Gods, Poetry and Magic -Alchemy and rich culture? Or may be its just cuz the lore is based on Norse and Gnosticism.

About Fatuis I never thought that they are also deceiving or rather not disclosing higher plans among each of their members. The poor fatuis underground were working thinking that they are just doing their duty to help LiYue as per deal but never had any clue what the higher ups will do next. And they were sacrificed by Pulcinella ooof 💀

The quest of Katarina I think she's is definitely dead specially after finding her brother's letter near a serpent :, >

I would like to add a lil spoiler for Fontaine in 2.7 hehe Liben (yes chad npc is coming back) says Qiaoying joins northern LiYue and Fontaine which means the theories of Qingce village with so much waterfalls and the Ocenid may connect to Fontaine directly. He also says how there's an ominous air hanging over Sumeru. Was Xamaran and Dain trying to say that knowledge itself is enemy of Gods and humans as in sense of reality? You know what position we are now due to too much intelligence. Or were they secretly quoting celestia here that...don't try to know too much or you know what happens to you * cough * Khaenriah, Vindagnyr * cough* Orobashi.

There's a white tree underground when you go near that Paimon says that it's just like the one they found in dragonspine hmmmm ley line branch?

One last thing remember Zhiqiong's letter? Apparently there's a secret passage in the most bottom part of chasm yet. But Paimon says they never saw any passage this might hint that there'll be an expansion for the underground chasm?

Theres a NPC that also tells you the star mushrooms are like mushrooms in sumeru but the ones in sumeru don't glow. We also learn that the water mushrooms are used as medicine in sumeru? Or something like that.

Great video as always! I finally took the time to do the main quests of the Chasm and rushed on ytb to finally watch your video on the subject. This patch gives sooo much stuff for us lore addicts ! I also can't wait for Sumeru. This region is going to be so stunning, and the story there seems to be so interesting! So having some glimpses of it in the Chasm...delightful.
I am also super hyped by Qiaoying village (and by all upcoming parts of regions we already have in-game like the Port of Mondstadt, Mare Jivari, the Dandelion Sea, the forge at Liyue etc.)
Xamaran's lines make me think of @CatWithBlueHat 's "How the Dendro Archon rules Sumeru" video, with the themes of Ignorance being "taught" in Sumeru rather than actual knowledge for the protection of Sumeru people.

And I'm definitely up for a video of yours on the Serpent Knights' dialogues! Keep up the good work :)

Probably the statuette is a character which gonna have a story same to Vanessa dandelion gladiator ascension talk about his past probably a khaenriah Odin just like kaeya dainslief and halfdan and other 9 names of khaenriah royal gaurd had Nordic names

Also there's a theory about yelan is a fatui cause there's leak about yelan ascension material you need a fatui sigil

Also thus the chasm upside down civilizations have a name??
