Finding glados down in the underground facility was one of the most reassuring parts of the entire game

I always loved how each of the Old Aperture songs builds on each other. The music progresses as you progress up the shaft, through the years, and through Aperture's history. It's such great buildup for how the backstory progresses throughout these two chapters.

By far my favorite track in the entire OST. It's bouncy, (hah) technological, and yet ominous at the same token. However it still keeps the Portal 2 OST formula: Instruments that sound like a speaker dropped in a pool. It's got a simple elegance.

Just noticed "You are not part part of the control group", "Forwarding the cause of science" and "The Reunion" basically share the same beat, but damn, they are still cool and show the progression of story

love the contrast between this track and music of the spheres 2 (song that plays in conversion gel level): this song feels motivational, its got a drive to it and it feels like it is constantly moving forward just like aperture. if i could sum it up in 2 words, id say "confident stride". then when you make it to the 80s and hear music of the spheres 2, its got the same melody but... it feels, different. it feels like an amalgamation of synths forming an orchestra, and while it has the grand nature of an orchestra it distinctly lacks the human element of it. it FEELS like what youd hear while aperture goes too far with robotics; theyve gone off the deep end and all sense of humanity is lost.

the 80s was aperture's TRUE final frontier.
