To me, this song perfectly sums up the game.  It is science and sounds like the promise of progress and discovery, but in the undertones, I can hear bittersweet tragedy that undergirds it all.  It is Aperture itself, a place that wanted to pursue progress but destroyed itself because of its lack of ethics.

the portal gun can actually pick up more things than the normal gravity gun. you see, the weight of a storage cube is that of a person. you can't even pick up people unless your gravity gun is charged. even if it is charged, the super-charge requires a massive surge of energy, is only temporary, and if you watch it, the gravity gun looks slightly unstable. plus, in half-life you die from fall damage. guess what special boots could help gordon freeman out?

I love Valve's kind of music, this one shows that both Aperture Science and Black Mesa wanted to progress, but Aperture couldn't do It because of it's lack of ethics and responsability. Black Mesa couldn't do it because of the leader's negligence and manipulation. Both companies could have a bright future....
