This shot alone could almost pass as a creative, intentional choice to convey the chaos of the crash. Like in the same way they often use shaky handheld for action sequences. But what really ruins it, is watching the whole scene. When combined with the shots before and after this one, it sticks out like a sore thumb.

I have watched this scene many times and not once did it feel off. I just rewatched it and it's completely fine

Quantum of Solace was the product of the '07 Writer's Guild strike - they wanted to chase the coattails of Casino Royale and were locked into a release date, with a director with basically no action movie experience and Craig having to help rewrite onset as they went. Hence the drop in overall quality between the two.

I found that entire car chase scene was shot like shit and I don't even know anything about movie making

Dont understand nitpicking on this scene, nice ultraspeed editing suits to style (in the tunnel). And this falling also looks good 💁

This shot doesn't bother me at all. I'm sure they had multiple cameras on the shot and this is the one that the editor felt fit the mood. I happened to enjoy these fast-paced edited movies.

I’m not buying that they had to use that shot because they had no other coverage from any other cameras. It may not be as well composed as the crew would like, but there is absolutely no chance there weren’t 4 or 5 other cameras rolling for coverage.

Quantum of Solace was riddled with bad luck behind the scenes. Writer's strikes, wars in countries they filmed in, injuries and death.

It was insane.

Can you guys go back and fix all the rear projection car chase scenes in the bond films? See if modern technology can clean it up so it's not so jarring and obvious

I'm with Wren, I don't really see anything out of place here. The camera work is completely consistent with the chaotic, jerky style that's been prevalent since at least The Bourne Identity.

The director and editor could have shortened that shot easily without the shaky part. I think they wanted to leave it like that on purpose. To convey chaos, style or simply to sell the veracity of the stunt. And I noticed it when the movie came out and loved it just like it is.
