"If you damage just one of your pins your motherboard is toast". Mechanical pencil can be used to straighten bent pins.

One thing I to note: All CPUs have an arrow on one corner, and motherboards have an arrow on one corner. Line up the arrows = you never try to install the CPU the wrong direction.
