Do NOT put pressure on your cpu. You can break the pins which will result in a computer failure and faulty cpu

Make sure your fingers are not oily or wipe down the CPU heatsink with some alcohol.

dont apply any pressure, if you did it right the cpu should fall right into the socket without no problem, if it wont fit just pick it up again and try again

If you put it correctly applying pressure is fine thats what the mechanism does problem is if you dont apply it correctly and trying to use the mechanism will break it .


So people mistakenly identify putting pressure with breaking the pins which is wrong

I installed my cpu the other day I cant run the computer yet due to them not sending me my case yet so I was wondering if I bent any pins it didn’t slide right in at first so I gently shifted it forward and it fell into place so do you think I bent any pins or if it falls right into place after a little adjustment it’s fine ?
