honestly including 10-15k steps a day in my routine has helped me tremendously. It's my favorite form of exercise, I put on a podcast, walk and clear my head, regardless of the weather

I lost 60 pounds since September 2020 with just walking 15.000-20.000 steps a day. It is INCREDIBLE how much benefits it has. I always listened to Audio Books and learned while getting in a better shape. It wasnt easy every day but totally worth it. The best benefit of this is you lose like 500-700 kcals extra a day but dont have the hunger like you were jogging the 700 calories away. The hunger doesnt get triggered so much in my opinion. Im still walking. And i guess in about a year from now on, i will be in the best shape of my life. Maybe i come back then and will check this comment and see if i made it.

This is so friggin true, and i'm a perfect example! Slowly ramped up my steps per day from 3-4k up to 22k average. That, with a calorie controlled high protein diet... 6 months later and 25kg have left my life for good. Thanks Coach, you're a champ and and inspiration

I only JUST realized my living room, hallway, kitchen, dining room loop makes a perfect indoor track. It’s not a big house, and I’m making a 90° turn every few steps but I can now do a mile run at around a 13 minute mile pace inside in Minnesota during the winter :). Great for walking too! I’ve even gotten my kids in the mix and I’ll chase them while they run or ride their big wheel in front of me.

I walk in place 45 minutes a day while I’m washing dishes and cooking for my kids. This usually gets me 5000-5200 steps, you can even do this while playing video games etc. it’ll help you reach 10k a day with ease.

I was doing 18-20k steps a day for 2 years and at first the results were great but I found I had to walk longer and get more steps because I plateaued. I became obsessed and it was consuming my day and my mind so I had to stop. I purchased one of those stationary bike holders so I can start cycling in the house. It doesn’t track steps but I feel great after I’m done. I still go for 40min walks outside no matter what the weather as it’s great for my mental health. So thanks for this advice Greg, it matters to get steps in, but we shouldn’t obsess too much over numbers.

Last year I got a replenishment job at a very large retail store.
Since I started I've notice a steady decline in my weight.
Got a fitbit for Christmas and turns out I've been getting around 15k steps and I've been scaling 25 floors a day.
I'm getting paid to exercise as I go through a stage of body recomposition.
It's awesome.

According to my step counter, I walked an average of 18, 500 steps per day in the year (the most I walked was 56, 000 when I visited 5 lakes by foot when most people do it on a tour with a van). Anyway, I always find reasons to go out and walk (mostly when I just wanna eat cookies and chips, and I decide to walk for an hour. If I still want the chips at the end, I'll buy a small bag after the walk. 95% of the time, I don't want them anymore). That's another way in which walking helps.
I didn't really lose any weight but I didn't gain either (I blame the amazing Mexican food that I cannot resist and that I will not have once I go back to Europe).

So yeah, I try to walk everywhere I go. The advantage of living in a small city near downtown.

I am a 16 year old girl. When Corona started I was 14 and overweight and was unhappy with myself. I wanted to improve my fitness to have better indurence when doing karate. I started walking. At first it was only 13k steps a day and I got Up to 30k steps during spring to late fall this year. I lost a lot of fat and have visible muscle and ab outline. I'm so fit now that I went Up two belts in karate due to my hard work. During winter I don't Walk as much, only 12k a day. Still doing karate and strenghth training everyday though. Going to school by bike through the whole city has also helped.
And the best part: I ate all the carbs.

I started walking for exercise about 6 weeks ago. I’m only walking 10, 000 to 12, 000 a day but I have been losing 1 pound a week. Definitely helping

Honestly, I love walking. Since installing an app to count steps, it's become my favorite cardio "exercise". If I'm gonna sit in front of my pc to, let's say, binge watch some episodes or something, I will do it while walking. I usually get 20k+ steps in every day. The most I've ever done was 56k. I don't get tired or hungry after, so it's perfect especially when I'm in a caloric deficit.

Walking is my main cardio given I have joint issues due to EDS hypermobile type. I average 18-25k steps per day, and helps me keep my weight in check (along with resistance training with modifications). Walking is so underrated, I use it as a stress reliever.

Average steps per month used to be around 2-3k for me, up to 10-11k average now and the weight is falling off but I suspect calorie counting might be the more important ingredient.

I get my steps in at work in 3-off 30 minutes breaks, doing about 3000 steps each. Add in the steps walking at the office, I easily get 10k a day. Then add on 5k at home and I get ~15000 steps per day without running. Usually, I run a 5-10km 3 times a week including a very brisk warmup walk and coodown which ends me up on 25-30k steps on running days. Average steps from walking is around 15k a day and easily 600-800kCal without feeling like I'm doing anything.

Adding in the steps were a game changer. Yeah, I've been doing lots of strength training and running, but the added walking makes you a fat burning machine.

Adding in between 1.5 and 2.5 miles per day in the form of walking, and adhering to an anabolic diet has done wonders for my health already. Have a great spot near the house that gains over 150ft in a quarter mile and really gets the blood pumping. Can do that all day and so far am down 20 lbs in 2 months.

I went from about 5-6K everyday to 10k every single day, do a lot of laps around my kitchen. Already starting to see the outline of my abs after 2 weeks. (I am teetering around 19-21% BF)
