I got hired within 3 days of being interviewed. I resigned within 3 days (2.5 days to be exact) because I felt the role was not a good fit and I was literally not sleeping due to pressure and anxiety, because the job description and role was totally different from what was advertised, I just found out the job was too complex, way complex for me, after a day. I felt sad because the manager is nice, but also relieved that I got out quickly.

I’ve been made redundant, I’ve been fired, I’ve had jobs offers rescinded. Businesses look after themselves first, so should us.

Earlier this year, I quit a new job after the fourth day and went back to my old one. Saw the writing on the wall and there were many red flags. I’m at peace that I made the right decision. It showed me what I did NOT want to do for work.

2 months into my job and it’s tiring to know they shifted heavy workload on a newbie as myself. As a fresh graduate I understand I need to learn but they’ve been expecting me to know things with bare min training or shadowing other colleagues/managers. On top of that, the managers are quite passive aggressive when I ask for clarification & I have let my supervisor know letting me handle this workload so soon might not be best.

Thank you for your blatant reminder that a health-first approach carries no shame.

In fact putting your health and wellness first demonstrates self respect and self compassion.

As someone who served in the U.S. military, it is especially difficult for me to withdraw from commitments that may seem to cause negative impacts on others; however, layoff experiences have proven how quickly a company dismisses employee loyalty.

I wish you all a well-made decision that empowers your next endeavor and gives you quality sleep.

People don't quit jobs, they quit their bosses. I once had a job where the guy the boss was targeting was my trainer. He told me to always watch my back with the boss and her buddies in upper management. Another coworker vouched for him. One day the guy vanished and we get an email from the dept director to deactivate everything pertaining to this guy.

On the Friday when the pay period was over, I clocked out for the day and never went back.

My issue witb the "feeling bad for the company" is that I don't feel bad for the company but for my supervisor. They've spent months training me, and I'm still not even fully trained. So, I just know me quitting is making their life so much harder and I feel guilty that I've just played them. They've spent months training me and it's all for nothing now. Also, my job is one where I carry a case load of clients, so quitting is so much harder for me since it's not like I can easily go. Me leaving guarantees all my co-workers jobs get harder since my cases will get dumped on them.

I need to quit since I'm going to grad school, but I feel trapped. I guess I just gotta pull the band aid off...

Im glad to find this video, I was asked to be a dispatcher when they saw u could be a dispatcher but I was given the night shift and I knew I was not going to get everything down enough fast enough because my hours was during times that my activity was focused in what was going in during those times... I was grilled about a lazy/ spoiled driver who we sent his manifest to him to save him a drive...

Thank you so much for this video, Johan. The guilt of resigning has been eating me for the past few months. I know - I should've taken heed of my gut feelings and pulled the trigger way earlier. Will definitely learn from this experience and will ensure none of my non-negotiables are compromised when I take on a new role in my next company though.

Thanks for this video. I’ve resigned 3 months in from a new job after relocating to another country. I left my family and friends behind assuming I will be able to adjust. But I realized after short time that I’m extremely depressed and need to go back to fix my mental health.

This is one of the channels that gave me the courage to start my YouTube channel 8 months ago about self development. Now I have 783 subs and > 300 hours of watch time. I know it’s not comparable with others but I’m still proud I started because I’ve been learning so many lessons that I could haven’t learned without getting started in the 1st place.

One benefit of leaving a job you hate quickly is that you can leave the job off your resume. If you kept a low profile, did not put it on your Linked In page, and didn't tell many people about it, no one needs to know, and no one is going to question a 2 - 4 month resume gap. If they do ask, say you took some time off/spent time with family/took a vacation. No, it's not honest, but it eliminates the need to explain in new interviews. Though I've never left a job after such a short time, I know people who worked with me at really toxic workplaces who realized their error, left just a month or two into the job, and never looked back.
