i find it hilarious that we as employees are supposed to give them two weeks notice if we're going to leave, but an employer will have no problem firing you without severance or support right before the holidays.

I just put in my two weeks. I feel liberated and letting go of a toxic, unappreciative environment is the best feeling!

This scenario is rarely how it goes when leaving. If you're a valuable employee they are going to guilt trip you HARD. Be prepared to get some shade and take it with class. It's actually incredible how everyone's perception of you will change immediately, even if you are a valued employee.

I’m putting in my 2 weeks notice. Nervous. I’ve been promised so much (promotion, raise, better hours) but been waiting for a while now. So glad to have made this decision for myself and my family ❤

Always act respectfully, after all your former boss is going to be a reference for you. Life is short, your working to live not living to work, get out of your comfort zone and grow, leave the comfort/familiarity of the nest behind, spread your wings and find that prize. Be humble yet optimistic and stay positive . I hope everyone lands their dream job.

I quit my job 3 hours into my shift last night. I gave them 13months of perfect attendance and always did them favors. But all I got were complaints and added work. They were paying $27.50 and I have two car notes and a few other bills to take care of. But no rent and no kids. Luckily. I’ll be doordashing all week until the next clock shackle comes

The small 20-employee company I worked for was recently acquired by a giant corporation. They were dumbfounded when all 20 of us quit on the same day. Haha. No hard feelings.

Fresh out of college with my first professional job making roughly about $52k a year. I will not mention the company. After 3 years of working at that company, I was told on a Wednesday that Friday will be my last day. I schedule a meeting with my manager and HR and they. gave me no reason about letting me go. It all came down to the company was downsizing. From that day forward, I never gave a company a two weeks notice. Never. Why would I give you more time to find a replacement and you're not willing to give me more time until I find a new job.

The day I had to put in my 2 weeks notice my boss wasn’t there so I emailed him and then called him. I kept it short and sweet and to the point. I was so nervous but once I got it over with I felt so happy! Now I can really celebrate my new job and remain thankful for my old one.

Pro tip: give however many days notice as you want. Just be sure you do ot after your bonus was deposited into your bank account. Seen too many people quit a few weeks too soon, thinking their bonus would be on their last pay check, when in fact it wasn't

I joined a new company last month, one month in I decided it wasn't the right for me. I put up the resignation to my manager and discussed with him. But he guilt tripped me into staying. Now two months in today I am going to do this one final time, wish me luck!

I'm getting ready to do this. I like where I work, my boss does care about his employees, and feel like I'll be letting everyone down. And we're short staffed right now. Still I feel this new opportunity is much better for my career so I just have to get it over with
